What Harry Jowsey shared when he announced his father’s death
PerthNow reported on 5 December 2024 that Jowsey posted childhood photographs and an image of himself holding his father’s hand on Instagram. The report reproduced Jowsey’s caption: “I love you Dad, I miss you. I’ll catch you on the other side ❤️✨🕊️”. PerthNow also reported that Jowsey later shared a video message from All Blacks player Anton Lienert-Brown, who said Jowsey’s father was fighting cancer. What Jowsey disclosed about his father’s illness in 2026
A July 2026 Us Weekly interview added details that were not part of the original announcement. Us Weekly identified Jowsey’s father as Paul Jowsey and reported that he had a terminal illness, had been told he had only months to live, and chose medically assisted dying in New Zealand. What Harry Jowsey said about his father’s final days
In an interview published by Netflix Tudum on 6 August 2026, Jowsey spoke about the time he spent with his father near the end of his life. “The hardest thing is, I was sitting there with him in those final days recording stuff for my kids in the future,” he said. Read the Netflix Tudum interview.
