The report named Josh Berman as writer and executive producer. Original series showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, along with original executive producers Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, were also named as executive producers. Hazy Mills Productions and Universal Television were identified as the studios behind the reboot.
Has the movie been given a release date or cast?
No release date is established by the available reporting. Variety said the reboot’s plot and cast were under wraps when it published its report. That means there is no confirmed story detail or returning cast to report from that source, and it does not establish whether the project has advanced since January 2025.

How does the movie connect to the original series?
The original Grimm ran for six seasons on NBC from 2011 to 2017, according to Variety. Its story follows Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt, who discovers he is a Grimm: a guardian responsible for keeping balance between humanity and mythological beings called Wesen.
The Peacock project is described as a reboot, but the report does not explain whether it will continue Nick’s story, revisit the original characters, or introduce a new cast and premise.
