What changed before his departure?
Marciano’s weekend role on Good Morning America had changed before the April 2024 departure reports. TVLine said he stepped away from the weekend editions about seven months earlier. In an Instagram statement quoted by the outlet, he said he planned to continue contributing across ABC shows and platforms on weekdays and spend more weekends with his children. TVLine reported that Somara Theodore filled the weekend weather role as he moved to weekday coverage.
In September 2023, Marciano also wrote, “I couldn’t be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you,” according to the Los Angeles Times. That message referred to his plans at the time; it was not a statement about the later departure.
