WWE veteran Dustin Rhodes, known to wrestling fans as Goldust, entered his 250-pound Mastiff, Beast, at Crufts 2026. Beast finished third in the working-group open competition on 5 March in Birmingham. The result was reported by ESPN and FightBook MMA; it was not a Best in Show placement.
What happened to Goldust’s dog at Crufts?
Rhodes brought Beast to Crufts, the annual dog show held at the NEC Birmingham from 5 to 8 March 2026. ESPN reported Beast’s third-place finish in the working-group open category. FightBook MMA identified the class as 234 Open Dog and dated the result to 5 March.
That distinction matters: Beast placed third in his open competition, not third overall at Crufts and not Best in Show.
What breed is Beast, and how big is he?
Beast is a Mastiff weighing 250 pounds, or about 114 kilograms, according to ESPN’s report. Rhodes has spoken warmly about the dog, calling him “a once-in-a-decade dog” and saying, “I thought our dog was the best.” He also said, “He just jumps on you and he is the best dog in the world,” and that he “would never own another breed.”

What did Crufts 2026 look like?
Crufts ran for four days at Birmingham’s NEC, with more than 200 pedigree breeds represented, according to the event’s official opening announcement. The Kennel Club and Crufts recorded 18,698 dogs and 4,299 overseas entries for the 2026 show. They also reported 17.5 hours of Channel 4 and More4 coverage.
For context, the 2025 opening announcement projected nearly 20,000 dogs and 155,000 people for that year’s four-day event. Those were 2025 projections, not the 2026 attendance or entry totals.
