Rodger Corser’s Bremont is the U-2/51-JET, a black, 43 mm pilot-style watch he discussed after wearing it for a week in 2019. In a first-person interview and review published by Time+Tide on 3 July 2019, the actor praised its legibility, lume and low-key finish, while noting its large presence and the comfort of its short lugs and crown positions. Bremont now lists the model as retired, so the story is best read as Corser’s account of the watch at that time—not as a current availability report.
What watch did Rodger Corser wear?
Corser wore the Bremont U-2/51-JET during the week covered by Time+Tide founder Andrew McUtchen’s interview-style review, published on 3 July 2019. Corser was a Gold Logie nominee that year; Now To Love reported on 25 June 2019 that it was his third consecutive nomination. The watch’s design and performance observations in the Time+Tide piece are Corser’s own impressions, not independent laboratory testing.
He described the U-2/51-JET as large, but said its short lugs helped it sit comfortably on his wrist. Its matte-looking black appearance, clear dial and blue-glowing lume stood out to him. “I love a watch that is legible and I can read it in any conditions,” he told McUtchen. He also liked the red triangle on the seconds hand and the placement of the crowns at 2 and 4 o’clock, which he found less likely to dig into his hand than crowns on other watches he had worn.
What are the U-2/51-JET’s specifications?

What did Corser like—and what would he change?
Legibility and stealth styling
Corser said the watch looked better in person than in photographs. He liked the contrast and readability of the dial, the lume, and the subdued black finish. Those preferences are personal impressions; they do not establish how every wearer will find the dial in all conditions.
Fit, crowns and strap
Although he considered the watch large, Corser felt its short lugs kept it from seeming too oversized on his wrist. He also preferred the two-crown layout at 2 and 4 o’clock because, in his experience, the crowns dug into his hand less than those on other watches he had worn. He considered the strap versatile and said the watch could be a contender for a one-watch collection on the black bracelet.

Date and bezel details
The U-2/51-JET has a date display, but Corser said he would prefer a no-date version. He also wished the internal bezel numerals and red triangle were slightly larger. These are his suggested changes, not revisions Bremont announced.
What is the design inspiration?
Bremont says the U-2/51-JET’s black “Jet” case and middle-barrel colour draw on a project commissioned by members of RAF 100 Squadron to complement Hawk T1 aircraft. The brand’s account says the squadron was formed for night bombing in 1917. This is Bremont’s description of the design inspiration.

Is the Bremont U-2/51-JET still available?
Bremont’s Australian product page states that the model “has officially retired from the Bremont catalogue” and marks it “No Longer Available.” The page displays AUD $8,000 as a regular price, but that listing does not establish a current transaction price or show that stock is available. The cited sources do not establish current resale values or availability from other sellers.
