The home is a co-op formed by combining two neighboring apartments; the available reports give different asking-price snapshots and do not establish a sale or final price.
A Chelsea co-op made from two apartments
Gorder, an interior designer and television personality, combined two side-by-side units at 457 West 22nd Street in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. The resulting duplex occupies the top two floors of a four-story townhouse dating to the 1850s, in the historic Fitzroy Townhouses and overlooking Clement Clarke Moore Park.
Mansion Global described the residence as nearly 2,500 square feet, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The Christie’s International Real Estate listing also gives four bedrooms and three bathrooms. These are property particulars reported by the publication and brokerage, not figures from an independent study. Mansion Global’s October 29, 2025 feature and the Christie’s listing describe the property.
What the television renovation changed
The work to unite the two units became the subject of the 2014 series Genevieve’s Renovation. The show followed the process of turning the separate apartments into a single four-bedroom home. FOXBusiness’s November 30, 2025 report also connects the listing to the series.

Documented design features include a white kitchen with a marble island, hand-scraped white oak floors, French windows, built-in shelving, fireplaces and a prominent staircase. Outdoor space is a notable part of the layout: Mansion Global reports two rear rooftop patios and two front patios, with the rear spaces facing the park.
Gorder told Mansion Global, “I wanted anything attached to the walls to reference the age of the home,” while adding, “In my heart, I’m a preservationist, but I don’t want to live like a lady in the 1860s.” Her description captures the renovation’s balance of period references and contemporary living. The listing agent, Smitha Ramchandani of Christie’s International Real Estate Group, characterized the terraces as “your own private oasis in the heart of Chelsea”; that is the agent’s promotional description, not an independent assessment.
Why reports put the price at different figures
The headline’s $4 million is a rounded figure. Published and displayed prices vary by source and date, and each should be understood as an asking-price snapshot rather than evidence of what a buyer paid.
| Source | Date or update | Price shown or reported | What it represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mansion Global | October 29, 2025 | $4.35 million | Reported asking price |
| FOXBusiness | November 30, 2025 | $4.3 million | Reported asking price |
| Christie’s International Real Estate | Displayed when reviewed; listing snapshot | $4.1 million | Price displayed on the brokerage listing |
| Coldwell Banker | Last updated April 6, 2026 | $4.35 million | Page displaying REBNY MLS data; Coldwell Banker disclaims verification and guaranteed availability |
The Christie’s page is a changeable listing, so its displayed figure is not a dated sale record. The Coldwell Banker page likewise cautions that its MLS information is not verified or guaranteed. None of these figures establishes a completed transaction or a closing price.

What is—and is not—known about a sale
The available reporting and listing pages establish that the duplex was marketed at the prices above. They do not establish whether the property subsequently sold or what its final sale price was. A listing price is an asking price, not a confirmed transaction value.
