Opening Night Live was scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Central European Summer Time on August 19. For reference, that was 2:00 p.m. Eastern and 11:00 a.m. Pacific in the United States. Those times describe the original broadcast, not a future 2025 stream.

You do not need special equipment to watch gamescom videos. What gamescom 2025 was like
gamescom served two audiences at once. For the games industry, it was a trade fair with business meetings, professional conferences, career activity, developer programming, and media access. For the public, it was a large-scale gaming festival with playable demonstrations, booths, live events, fan activities, and shopping.

The official hall-plan archive divided the experience into several kinds of areas, including entertainment, business, indie, retro and family, cosplay, cards and boards, merchandise, artist, campus, outdoor, signing, and event-arena zones. The result was broader than a conventional console or PC showcase.
Major publisher and developer booths
The 2025 exhibitor directory listed companies and brands including Nintendo, ASUS, HoYoverse, Paradox Interactive, Samsung, Electronic Arts, CD Projekt, Ubisoft, Konami, Xbox, Capcom, Bandai Namco, SEGA, KRAFTON, Focus Entertainment, NetEase, and the Indie Arena Booth.
Large exhibitors generally made gamescom visually prominent through branded installations, demonstrations, photo opportunities, and fan-facing activities. Cosplay and community programming
gamescom’s cosplay village included international cosplayers, artists, music and show acts, live casts, and a cosplay competition. The official video archive contains the 2025 cosplay contest recording for viewers who did not attend in person.
Community programming also extended into signings, creator activity, fan installations, and live-stage appearances. These activities helped make the event a festival for gaming culture rather than a sequence of product demonstrations.

This range is one reason a visitor could spend a full day at gamescom without playing every major new video game. The event also catered to people interested in collecting, tabletop gaming, art, cosplay, and family entertainment.
Stages, esports, careers, and professional events
The event arena hosted large shows and esports-related programming. Major-stage activity was separate from the ordinary booth-floor experience, so visitors interested in a particular performance needed to consult the program rather than assume it ran continuously.

gamescom campus focused on careers and training. Professional visitors could also look to gamescom dev and gamescom congress for educational and industry programming. The 2025 gamescom congress separately reported more than 1,000 guests and 180 international experts.
