Yes—the transaction officially closed on October 29, 2025. But the wording needs an important qualification: Fubo combined with Disney’s Hulu + Live TV business, not with every part of Hulu. Fubo and Hulu + Live TV continue to operate as separate consumer streaming services, with separate apps, plans and subscription experiences.
In other words, the merger is complete at the corporate level, but subscribers did not receive one combined Fubo-Hulu service automatically.
What actually happened?
FuboTV Inc., The Walt Disney Company and Hulu, LLC completed the previously announced business combination on October 29, 2025. The deal joined Fubo’s virtual multichannel video business with Disney’s Hulu + Live TV business, including activities connected to carriage, distribution and subscription operations for the live-TV service.
The transaction did not transfer Hulu’s entire entertainment-streaming operation to Fubo. Hulu’s on-demand library, Disney+ relationship and broader streaming ecosystem remain distinct from the live-TV business covered by the transaction.

The closing was announced by Fubo and Disney, and disclosed in SEC filings.
The three dates that settle the confusion
- January 6, 2025: Fubo and Disney announced the proposed transaction.
- September 30, 2025: Fubo shareholders approved the deal. This was an important step, but it was not the legal closing date.
- October 29, 2025: The business combination officially closed.
Older stories that describe the transaction as pending, awaiting approval or merely expected to close are outdated after October 29, 2025.
Did Fubo merge with all of Hulu?
No. The legally and commercially accurate description is that Fubo combined with Disney’s Hulu + Live TV business.

The completed transaction focused on the live-TV business and related carriage and distribution functions. It was not a wholesale transfer of every Hulu product or all Disney streaming operations to Fubo.
That is why “Fubo merged with Hulu” is understandable shorthand but incomplete. It can wrongly suggest that the Hulu app, on-demand library and all Hulu subscriptions moved into Fubo.

Who controls the combined company?
Disney received approximately 70% ownership of the combined company, while existing Fubo shareholders retained approximately 30%. Fubo remained the publicly traded operating company. The ownership figures are described in the companies’ transaction materials and SEC disclosures.
These facts describe corporate control—not a unified customer product. Ownership, app integration, billing and subscriber access are separate issues.

Are Fubo and Hulu + Live TV now one app?
No. The companies’ closing announcements stated that Fubo and Hulu + Live TV would continue as separate and distinct consumer services. The transaction did not announce a single replacement app or automatic migration of subscribers.
Customers should not assume that:
- a Fubo subscription includes Hulu + Live TV;
- a Hulu + Live TV subscription includes Fubo;
- the services share one login or billing account;
- one service’s DVR limits or simultaneous-streaming rules apply to the other;
- the two services have identical channel lineups or supported devices.
What does the deal mean for current subscribers?
Fubo customers
Existing Fubo customers should continue managing their Fubo subscription through Fubo. The corporate combination did not, by itself, require customers to cancel, switch services or subscribe again through Hulu.
Hulu + Live TV customers
Existing Hulu + Live TV customers should continue managing that subscription through Hulu and Disney’s account ecosystem. The closing did not establish automatic access to Fubo.

Fubo’s customer-support explanation addresses the combination as a customer-information issue rather than announcing a universal migration of plans or accounts.
The safest practical conclusion is that the closing did not automatically turn the two services into one subscription. Future changes to prices, channels, devices or features could still be announced separately.
Did prices change automatically?
There was no announcement of a universal price conversion that moved every Fubo or Hulu + Live TV customer to one common plan. Customers should compare the current terms for the specific service and plan they intend to use.
Pricing is especially time-sensitive. Fubo’s official pages can show different plans, promotions and regular rates depending on the page, offer, location and eligibility. Its published plans have included Sports + News, Pro, Elite, Deluxe and Latino options. Promotional pricing should not be confused with the recurring rate after the offer ends.

- taxes and possible regional sports fees;
- the exact channel lineup for your ZIP code;
- DVR storage and simultaneous-streaming limits;
- trial, cancellation and eligibility terms.
The same caution applies to Hulu + Live TV. Promotional terms, regional restrictions, blackouts and location requirements can affect the actual cost and experience.

The companies described the combination as creating a larger consumer-focused virtual multichannel video programming distributor, or vMVPD. The expected business benefits include greater scale, stronger distribution leverage and commercial arrangements involving carriage and advertising.
Fubo’s annual filing described an arrangement under which Hulu pays Fubo fees associated with specified Hulu Live carriage expenses. The filing described the amount as 95% of those expenses in calendar years 2025 and 2026, rising to 97.5% in 2027 and 99% in 2028 and later years. These are corporate financial mechanics, not a promise that consumer prices will fall.
Disney also manages or sells advertising for the Fubo and Hulu Live businesses under arrangements described in its financial disclosures.
Disney committed a $145 million term loan to Fubo in 2026 as part of the transaction. None of these arrangements means that every channel, plan or feature is automatically available on both services.

What happened to the sports-focused offering?
The original January 2025 announcement also described a carriage arrangement allowing Fubo to create a sports-and-broadcast-oriented service using Disney networks and sports programming. The announcement referenced ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPNEWS and ESPN+.
That arrangement should be kept separate from the completed corporate transaction. A proposed or revised sports plan may have its own launch date, name, price, eligibility rules and market availability. The existence of a carriage agreement does not prove that every listed network appears in every Fubo plan or geography.
Choosing between Fubo and Hulu + Live TV
The merger does not make the services interchangeable. Compare them based on the viewing experience you actually need.

Fubo may be the better fit for viewers who prioritize live sports and sports-focused packages. Hulu + Live TV may be more attractive to households seeking live channels alongside Hulu and Disney+ content. Neither service automatically includes the other simply because Disney controls the combined company.
The bottom line
Fubo and Disney’s Hulu + Live TV business officially completed their business combination on October 29, 2025. Disney now owns approximately 70% of the combined company, and Fubo remains the operating public company.
For viewers, however, the most important fact is simpler: Fubo and Hulu + Live TV remain separate consumer services. The deal did not create one app, one subscription or an automatic exchange of plans, channels and features.
