Fortnite’s Galactic Battle was a Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season that launched on May 2, 2025—not a permanent standalone Star Wars game. It featured Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine, added pilotable X-wings and TIE fighters, and unfolded through weekly Star Wars content before a scheduled Death Star Sabotage finale on June 7, 2025.
What was Fortnite: Galactic Battle?
Epic Games announced Galactic Battle on April 29, 2025, calling it Fortnite Battle Royale’s first entirely Star Wars-themed season. Players entered the familiar Battle Royale format with Star Wars characters, weapons, vehicles, and themed locations; the announcement did not describe a separate, permanent Star Wars game. Epic Games’ announcement confirmed the season began May 2, 2025.
Was Darth Jar Jar in Fortnite?
Yes. Epic named Darth Jar Jar as one of the characters players could play as during the season, alongside Emperor Palpatine. StarWars.com reported the reveal at Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 20, 2025, where Ahmed Best—who portrayed Jar Jar Binks and Jedi Master Kelleran Beq—helped announce the collaboration. StarWars.com also described Darth Jar Jar using Force Lightning.
Epic’s announcement confirms the character’s presence but does not say whether Darth Jar Jar was a Battle Pass reward or an Item Shop purchase. The sources establish that the season included a Star Wars-themed Battle Pass and separate Item Shop offerings, but do not assign Darth Jar Jar to either category.

Was Galactic Battle still upcoming?
No. The season launched May 2, 2025, and its announced finale date was June 7, 2025. The headline’s “is getting” phrasing refers to the 2025 announcement, not an upcoming season today. Fortnite’s broader Star Wars collaboration continued: in an April 30, 2026 overview, Fortnite described additional Star Wars games and creator-built islands. Those later experiences should not be confused with the Galactic Battle Battle Royale season. Fortnite’s 2026 overview covers those later additions.
