There is no single fix for “This account is not yet eligible to use YouTube.” The correct solution depends on whether the account is supervised, managed by Google Workspace, affected by a recently deleted channel or Brand Account, or experiencing an account-level YouTube service problem.
First establish whether YouTube itself is inaccessible. If the message appears only in YouTube Studio → Earn, it is probably a monetization-eligibility issue, not a general YouTube access problem.
Identify which problem you have
These situations can look similar but require different actions:
- YouTube is blocked completely: you cannot open YouTube or use the account normally.
- Channel creation or switching fails: YouTube opens, but the expected personal channel or Brand Account is unavailable.
- The message appears only under Earn: this concerns the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), not basic YouTube access.
- The account is managed: Family Link, a school, employer, or Google Workspace administrator may control access.
- The problem began after deletion: a deleted channel or Brand Account may have left the account in a temporary or inconsistent state.
Google does not publish a dedicated, guaranteed repair procedure for this exact wording. Community reports have associated it with deleted channels, deleted Brand Accounts, and a missing YouTube service, but those reports indicate patterns rather than a confirmed universal cause.

If the issue is limited to monetization, consult YouTube’s Partner Program eligibility requirements. YPP rules include monetization-policy compliance, an eligible region, no active Community Guidelines strikes, two-step verification, advanced-features access, and an AdSense for YouTube account. Subscriber, watch-hour, Shorts-view, or AdSense requirements do not explain why an account cannot open YouTube at all.
Run these five-minute checks first
- Sign out of every Google Account in the browser.
- Open YouTube in an incognito or private window.
- Sign in only to the affected account.
- Try another browser, device, and network.
- Open the channel switcher and check that the expected personal channel or Brand Account appears.
If another Google Account works on the same device but the error follows the affected account across browsers and devices, the problem is probably account-specific. Clearing cookies can repair a stale session, but it cannot normally restore a missing YouTube service, change an age-control decision, remove a Workspace restriction, or repair a damaged Brand Account relationship.
Also search Gmail and other account email for suspension, termination, age-verification, security, or administrator messages. A formal suspension or termination usually has different wording and may include an appeal route.

Google’s minimum age for independently managing an account varies by country. A wrong birthday, Family Link supervision, or a pending age-verification request can restrict YouTube access.
- Open Google Account → Personal info → Birthday.
- Confirm that you are checking the affected Google Account, not another signed-in account.
- Check whether the account is managed through Family Link or another supervision arrangement.
- Look for a Google request to verify your age.
If the birthday is genuinely incorrect, correct it through the account settings. If Google offers age verification, use the official process, such as government identification or credit-card verification where available. Do not falsify your age or create an account to evade age controls.
Google says that, in its age-account process, a user generally has 14 days to set up supervision or verify age before the account is disabled. After disabling, there may be a further 30-day period before deletion. These are Google account-process periods, not guaranteed timers for restoring YouTube access. Check Google Workspace or school restrictions
If the address uses a custom domain rather than @gmail.com, it may be an employer, school, nonprofit, or other Google Workspace account. Ordinary users often cannot change service availability themselves.

Ask the Workspace administrator to check:
- Open the Google Admin console.
- Go to Apps → Additional Google services → YouTube.
- Confirm that YouTube is enabled for the relevant organizational unit or access group.
- Check restrictions based on age, region, policy, or the organization’s service configuration.
Admin-console labels and controls can vary by edition and interface version. Enabling YouTube is not an immediate guarantee: a newly created organization or account may still be waiting for service changes to propagate. Sign out and back in after the administrator makes changes.
If the account or Workspace trial was created recently and access remains blocked, the administrator should use Google Workspace support. A personal YouTube support route may not be available to ordinary managed users.
If you recently deleted a channel or Brand Account
This is a particularly important clue. Deleting a YouTube channel deletes its videos, comments, messages, playlists, and history, but it does not delete the Google Account used to sign in. Deleting the Google Account is a separate and far more destructive action. See YouTube’s channel deletion and hiding instructions.
Try restoring a deleted Brand Account
- Open the Google Account’s Brand Accounts page.
- Look under Deleted accounts.
- If the Brand Account is listed, choose Restore this Brand Account.
- Complete the restoration once, then sign out of Google completely.
- Sign in again and test YouTube.
Google generally requires an owner to have held ownership for at least seven days before deleting or restoring a Brand Account when that ownership rule is presented. That seven-day rule is not a general YouTube lockout timer. Review Manage your Brand Account for the current recovery options.
Community reports describe some post-deletion cases taking roughly one to two weeks to settle, but this is anecdotal and is not a published YouTube service-level guarantee. If restoration produces an error such as “unknown error occurred while undeleting your account,” stop repeatedly retrying and prepare an escalation.
Do not confuse a hidden channel with a deleted channel
A hidden channel may be re-enabled through YouTube’s channel-creation flow without selecting the option to create a business or Brand Account channel. Brand Accounts have a separate re-enable path. Use YouTube’s instructions for re-enabling a hidden channel.

A permanently deleted channel is different. Its content is intended to be removed, and recovery is not assured. Do not use the hidden-channel procedure as though it were a guaranteed way to restore permanently deleted content.
Avoid destructive “fixes”
- Do not repeatedly create and delete channels. This can make channel switching and ownership history harder to diagnose.
- Do not transfer channels while troubleshooting. YouTube warns that a Brand Account transfer can delete the channel already associated with the destination account. See YouTube’s transfer guidance.
- Do not delete your Google Account. That can permanently affect Gmail, Drive, purchases, and other Google services.
- Do not rely on a VPN. It cannot normally fix age status, Workspace policy, a missing YouTube service, or Brand Account linkage, and it may add a location or security complication.
- Do not create a replacement Gmail account as the first response. It will not repair the affected account and may separate you from existing channels and data.
When none of the normal fixes work
For a personal adult account with no supervision, Workspace restriction, or recent deletion, the issue may be an account-side YouTube service or channel-linkage problem. At that point, more browser troubleshooting is unlikely to help.

Post in the official YouTube Help Community or use any support option available in your account. Explain that Gmail works, YouTube does not, and whether the error appears across devices. Community replies can identify patterns, but they may come from users or Product Experts rather than YouTube engineers, so treat them as guidance rather than official policy.
Copy-and-paste support checklist
- Exact error wording.
- Date and approximate time the problem began.
- Account type: personal Gmail, Workspace, school, or other.
- Country or region associated with the account.
- Whether the birthday is correct and whether age verification was requested.
- Whether Family Link or another supervision status is active.
- Whether a channel or Brand Account was recently created, transferred, hidden, or deleted.
- Channel URL, handle, or Brand Account name.
- Whether the Brand Account appears under Deleted accounts.
- Results from incognito mode, another browser, another device, and another network.
- Whether another Google Account works on the same device.
Attach screenshots if requested, but hide passwords, recovery codes, payment details, and other private information.

Unexpected channel changes, uploads, permissions, or Brand Account users require security action before YouTube troubleshooting. Recover and secure the Google Account first, then review unauthorized uploads, channel permissions, Brand Account users, and recent account activity. Use YouTube’s hacked-channel recovery guidance and its post-recovery cleanup instructions.
Bottom line: this message is usually an account-access or account-configuration problem, not a monetization verdict. Verify the account, age and supervision status, Workspace settings, and recent channel or Brand Account history in that order. If the error follows the account everywhere—especially after deletion or failed restoration—stop changing channels and escalate with a complete timeline and screenshots.

Does this message mean my YouTube account is banned?
Not necessarily. A suspension or termination usually has different wording and may include an email or appeal option. Search your Google and YouTube inboxes before assuming the account was banned.
Can clearing the cache fix the problem?
Only if the error is limited to one browser or a stale sign-in session. It will not normally fix an age restriction, Workspace policy, missing YouTube service, or damaged Brand Account linkage.
How long should I wait after deleting a channel?
There is no guaranteed YouTube waiting period for this error. Some community reports describe one to two weeks after deletion, but that timing is anecdotal. Try available Brand Account restoration once and escalate if access remains blocked.
What if YouTube is missing from my Google Account services?

What if Gmail works but YouTube does not?
That is consistent with a YouTube-specific account, age, supervision, Workspace, or channel-linkage problem. Test the account across browsers and devices, then provide those results when escalating.
