What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Paramount+ error code 3002 usually appears when a video cannot load or continue playing. Paramount+ does not publicly define 3002 as one specific fault, so treat it as a playback or connection symptom rather than a diagnosis. Start with the quick checks below, then use the test results to decide whether the app, device, network, account, region, or Paramount+ itself is responsible.
Try these fixes first
- Stop playback, close Paramount+, and open the title again.
- Play a different movie or episode.
- Force-close the Paramount+ app.
- Restart the streaming device or television.
- Unplug the modem and router for about 10 seconds, reconnect them, and retry.
- Test Paramount+ on another device or in a desktop browser.
What error 3002 actually tells you
There is no publicly accessible Paramount+ support page that assigns error 3002 a definitive technical meaning. It can accompany a temporary service or content-delivery problem, damaged app session, outdated software, unstable Wi-Fi, browser data or extensions, device incompatibility, an account or regional entitlement issue, or a failure affecting one title or live stream. It does not, by itself, prove that your internet is slow, your subscription expired, a VPN is blocked, or Paramount+ is down.
Identify the scope before changing settings
Run these comparisons first. They prevent unnecessary reinstalls and factory resets.
| Result | Most likely area |
|---|---|
| Only one movie, episode, channel, or event fails | Title metadata, rights, or content delivery |
| Every Paramount+ title fails on one device | App, cache, device software, or compatibility |
| Paramount+ fails on every device | Paramount service, account, subscription, or network |
| Every streaming app fails | Internet connection, router, DNS, device, or television |
| Paramount+ works on a phone or browser but not the TV | TV or streaming-device app or software |
| It works on Wi-Fi but not cellular, or the reverse | Network, filtering, DNS, or connection-specific fault |
Roku recommends comparing another title, app, and device when diagnosing streaming failures (Roku playback guidance).

Force-close Paramount+
Roku
Highlight Paramount+ on the Home screen, press the Star button, and use the available restart or close-and-relaunch option. If your model shows no such option, restart Roku instead.
Fire TV
- Open Settings.
- Select Applications, then Manage Installed Applications.
- Choose Paramount+ and select Force Stop.
- Launch Paramount+ again.
This Force Stop path is included in Paramount+’s streaming troubleshooting guidance (Paramount+ support).
Mobile devices
On iPhone or iPad, open the app switcher and swipe Paramount+ away. On Android, dismiss it from recent apps or use the device’s App info screen to force stop it. Labels vary by operating-system version.
Restart the streaming device
Roku player
- Press Home.
- Go to Settings > System > System restart.
- Confirm, then open Paramount+ after Roku restarts.
Roku TV
Use Home > Settings > System > Power > System restart. If your television uses different labels, choose its normal system-restart command. A power cycle—unplugging it, waiting several seconds, and reconnecting—is also reasonable.
Other devices
Use the ordinary restart command on Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, or your smart TV. Do not factory-reset the device at this stage; that removes accounts, apps, and settings.

Update the app and device software
Roku
- Highlight Paramount+, press Star, and select Check for updates.
- Open Settings > System > Software update > Check now to update Roku.
These paths are documented by Roku (Roku app troubleshooting).
Other platforms
- Fire TV: check Paramount+ and Fire OS updates in device settings.
- Apple TV: update Paramount+ in the App Store and tvOS in Settings.
- Android TV or Google TV: update the app through Google Play and check system updates.
- Samsung, LG, and other smart TVs: use the television’s app store and firmware-update menu.
Menu wording differs by manufacturer, model, and software edition. Paramount also provides general device-software guidance (Paramount device software support).
Clear the Paramount+ cache
Fire TV
- Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
- Select Paramount+.
- Choose Clear cache, then relaunch the app.
Paramount recommends this Fire TV procedure in its streaming support article.
Android TV or Google TV
The path commonly resembles Settings > Apps > See all apps > Paramount+ > Storage & cache > Clear cache. Exact labels vary.
Roku, Apple TV, and many smart TVs
These platforms may not expose a conventional cache command. Restarting, removing, and reinstalling the app is safer than using unofficial button sequences or hidden menus.

Reinstall Paramount+
Roku
- Highlight Paramount+ and press Star.
- Select Remove app or Remove channel, then confirm.
- Restart Roku.
- Reinstall Paramount+ from the Roku Streaming Store and sign in.
Roku documents removal and reinstallation for apps that fail to load or play (Roku playback guidance).
Fire TV and smart TVs
Force-stop Paramount+, clear its cache when available, uninstall it, restart the device, reinstall the current version, and sign in again. Reinstallation does not delete your Paramount+ account, but it can remove local settings or downloads and will usually require authentication again.

Check the network
- On Roku, run Home > Settings > Network > Check connection.
- Pause large downloads, cloud backups, game updates, and other streams.
- Move the device closer to the router or use Ethernet if practical.
- As a diagnostic only, try another network such as a phone hotspot.
- Restart the modem and router: unplug both, wait approximately 10 seconds, power the modem first if they are separate, then the router, and wait for service to return.
Roku identifies unstable Wi-Fi and competing network use as possible playback causes and recommends router restarts (Roku connection troubleshooting). Error 3002 does not establish a universal bandwidth requirement.
Fix browser playback
- Update Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
- Clear Paramount+ site data, cookies, and browsing history.
- Close and reopen the browser.
- Try another supported browser or a private window.
- Temporarily disable ad-blocking, privacy, or filtering extensions and test again.
Paramount explicitly recommends browser updates, clearing cache and cookies, trying another browser, and temporarily disabling ad blockers (Paramount+ browser troubleshooting). Re-enable extensions afterward if they are not involved.
Check service, account, and region issues
Possible service interruption
If all titles fail across devices and networks, a Paramount+ service or content-delivery problem is plausible. If only one title fails, continue testing other titles before changing router or device settings. Roku advises checking the streaming service’s website for an interruption when multiple titles fail (Roku playback guidance). Do not treat this article as confirmation of a current outage.

Subscription and entitlement
- Confirm the subscription is active.
- Make sure you are signed into the intended Paramount+ account.
- If billing is through Roku, Apple, Amazon, a cable company, or another bundle, verify entitlement with that provider.
- Check that the title is available in your country.
Paramount warns that Roku accounts set to the United States may have trouble accessing Paramount+ outside the United States (Paramount+ support). Roku also recommends checking subscription status for subscriber-only content.

When to stop troubleshooting and contact support
Stop repeating local resets when every title fails on every device, multiple networks produce the same result, a widespread interruption is reported, or an active subscription still cannot unlock content. Contact Paramount+ support and provide the device model, operating-system version, Paramount+ app version, affected title, network used, exact time, and whether other devices worked. Contact Roku instead when Roku itself, its network connection, or several Roku apps fail while Paramount+ works elsewhere. Avoid unofficial phone numbers, PDFs, or support services found in search results.
Buying a new streamer is justified only when the existing TV or device is obsolete, malfunctioning, or no longer receiving software updates. New hardware cannot repair a Paramount-side outage, title-rights problem, or account entitlement error.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will reinstalling Paramount+ cancel my subscription?
No. Reinstalling removes the local app and signs you out; your subscription remains attached to the account or billing provider. You will need to sign in again.

Should I factory-reset my Roku or smart TV for code 3002?
No. A factory reset is a last resort because it erases accounts, apps, and settings, and it cannot fix a Paramount+ service or entitlement problem.
Why does Paramount+ work on my phone but not my television?
That comparison points toward the television or streaming-device app, software, cache, or compatibility rather than an account-wide failure.
Is Paramount+ error 3002 proof that the service is down?
No. It is a generic playback symptom. Confirm a service interruption only through current Paramount+ communications or consistent failures across devices and networks.
The Bottom Line
Error 3002 has no confirmed single public definition. Compare titles, apps, devices, and networks first; then restart, update, clear cache, reinstall, and verify account or regional access. Persistent cross-device failures belong with Paramount+ support, not repeated factory resets.
