Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf a finished YouTube Live replay stops when the playlist ends, open a video in that playlist and turn on its Loop or Repeat control. This setting repeats playlist playback. It is different from live DVR, which applies only while a stream is in progress.
Turn on repeat for the playlist
- Confirm the live event has ended. You should be watching its replay as a channel video, not the live player. YouTube says replays appear as videos on the channel after a live stream ends. YouTube Help: Watch live streams.
- Open the replay from the playlist. Start a video that belongs to the playlist so the playlist controls are available.
- Enable playlist repeat. On a computer or mobile device, expand the playlist box and select Loop. On a TV or gaming console, open the playback controls with the remote or controller and select Repeat until it indicates that the playlist is repeating. The exact control presentation can vary by device or app version. YouTube Help: Play videos and playlists on repeat.
When enabled, playlist repeat is intended to play the playlist again after it reaches the end. YouTube documents repeat controls for videos and playlists, but that does not establish a universal fix for every case where playback still stops.
Check which feature applies to your situation
| Feature | When it applies | What it does | Relevant control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Playlist Loop or Repeat | While playing a playlist, including one containing a finished livestream replay | Repeats playlist playback | The player’s playlist Loop or Repeat control |
| Live DVR | While a stream is live | Lets viewers pause, rewind, and continue, subject to limitations | The live player and the creator’s DVR setting |
| Live Redirect | When a creator’s live stream ends | Moves viewers to a selected Premiere or another live stream | The creator’s Live Control Room settings |
DVR does not loop a finished replay
YouTube’s DVR feature is for viewers watching a live stream: it allows pausing, rewinding, and resuming. Availability can be limited on very long streams, with lower limits on Apple TV, Apple AirPlay, or older app versions. Disabling DVR prevents viewers from seeking back during the live stream, but a recording of the entire stream can still be available afterward. YouTube Help: DVR on live streams.
Live Redirect is a creator-side handoff
If you run the channel and want to send viewers to another event when the current stream ends, Live Redirect is a separate option—not a way to repeat a replay playlist. YouTube Help says the creator using redirect needs more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. Check the current requirements and setup in YouTube Help: Live Redirect.

If the replay is missing or incomplete
First check whether YouTube created an archive. YouTube says it can automatically archive live streams under 12 hours; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive backup. This affects whether a replay exists or is complete, not whether playlist repeat is enabled. YouTube Help: Watch live streams.
If playback still stops
- Reopen the playlist controls and verify that playlist Loop or Repeat—not only a live-player control—is selected.
- Make sure playback is actually coming from the playlist rather than from an individual replay opened outside it.
- If the replay is cut off or absent, check archive availability; repeat cannot restore video that was not captured.
- If repeat is enabled and playback still stops, the official guidance does not establish one universal cause or fix. The device, app or browser version, playlist configuration, account state, or a temporary service issue may need context-specific diagnosis. Avoid assuming any one of these is the cause without further evidence.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos playing as a YouTube live stream 24/7, rather than repeat a finished replay for personal viewing, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start a StreamNeo free day.
