Five men were convicted in June 2024 for helping operate Jetflicks, an unauthorized subscription streaming service that prosecutors said copied, stored and distributed hundreds of thousands of television episodes. Sentencing followed on May 29 and 30, 2025.

The sentences were far below the statutory maximums announced immediately after the verdict. Dallmann had faced a possible maximum of 48 years, while the other four defendants faced maximum penalties of five years each. Those figures were legal maximums—not the punishments ultimately imposed.
What was Jetflicks?
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada, Jetflicks was a Las Vegas-based, subscription online streaming service. Customers could stream, and in some cases download, television programs without authorization from the copyright holders.

How prosecutors said the operation worked
The Justice Department said the group used scripts and software to search pirate websites for television episodes, download those files and place them on Jetflicks servers. The alleged workflow had four connected parts:
- Discovery and acquisition: locating unauthorized copies online.
- Automation: using software to reduce the need to find and process episodes manually.
- Hosting and delivery: storing the files and making them available through Jetflicks.
- Revenue: charging subscribers for access.
Indictment-related material and secondary reporting have identified tools and services including SickRage, SickBeard, SABnzbd and TheTVDB in the alleged workflow. Those technical details should be understood as allegations or reporting about court filings, not as a separate judicial finding about every tool’s role.
How large was the catalog?
The DOJ said Jetflicks contained hundreds of thousands of unauthorized television episodes. It also described the alleged catalog as larger than the combined catalogs of Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and Amazon Prime.

That comparison is a Justice Department characterization of evidence presented at trial. It is a catalog-size comparison, not an independent measurement of the services’ subscribers, revenue, viewing quality or market value. The services also have different licensing arrangements, territories and methods for counting titles or episodes.

Prosecutors said Jetflicks generated millions of dollars in subscription revenue and served tens of thousands of paying subscribers. The DOJ also described millions of dollars in losses to copyright owners. These figures should be attributed to the government’s account; the available material does not establish a single precise loss figure that should be presented as definitive.
Who were the five defendants?
The defendants did not all have the same alleged responsibilities:
- Kristopher Dallmann: described by prosecutors as running the Jetflicks operation.
- Jared Jaurequi and Douglas Courson: described as assisting with the operation.
- Felipe Garcia: described as handling customer support and helping obtain television content.
- Peter Huber: described as providing computer-programming services.
The differing roles help explain why the convictions and sentences were not identical.

On June 18, 2024, a federal jury convicted all five men of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement. The DOJ announced the verdicts publicly on June 20.

A conspiracy conviction concerns an agreement and coordinated conduct. It does not mean that every defendant was convicted of every underlying offense. Dallmann was additionally convicted of three misdemeanor criminal-copyright-infringement counts and two money-laundering-by-concealment counts.
The Justice Department’s verdict announcement said prosecutors presented evidence that the group had operated Jetflicks as early as 2007. The FBI and DOJ also said that, when copyright complaints and payment-service problems threatened the business, the defendants attempted to disguise it as an aviation-entertainment company. That is the government’s account of the evidence in the case.
Why the 48-year figure was misleading without an update
After the convictions, the DOJ announced that Dallmann faced a statutory maximum of 48 years in prison and that each of the other four men faced a maximum of five years. A statutory maximum is the highest punishment authorized by law for the relevant counts; it is not a prediction of the sentence a judge will impose.
The actual sentences came nearly a year later. The judge imposed them after considering the statutory sentencing factors and the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. Dallmann received seven years, not 48 years. Huber received 18 months. Jaurequi received time served with additional restrictions and service, while Garcia and Courson received probationary sentences that included short periods of incarceration.

The wider Jetflicks prosecution
The broader federal case involved more than the five men tried in Las Vegas. The official District of Nevada case page also lists Yoany Vaillant, Luis Angel Villarino and Darryl Julius Polo.
They did not all follow the same procedural path:
- Darryl Julius Polo pleaded guilty to four criminal-copyright counts and one money-laundering count connected to Jetflicks and another streaming site. He was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison.
- Luis Angel Villarino pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement and was sentenced to one year and one day in prison.
- Yoany Vaillant’s case was severed from the five-defendant trial. He should not be described as having received a verdict in that June 2024 proceeding.
The original federal case charged eight defendants on August 27, 2019. It was transferred to the District of Nevada for trial in February 2022.

The DOJ described Jetflicks as one of the largest unauthorized streaming operations in the United States. In a later release, the department called it the largest internet-piracy case by volume of infringed works and the first illegal-streaming case to go to trial. Those are DOJ characterizations, rather than universal historical findings independently established here.

The case’s importance, as presented by prosecutors, came from the combination of scale and organization: a very large alleged library, automated acquisition, subscription revenue, tens of thousands of users, differentiated technical and business roles, and alleged efforts to conceal the operation when payment and copyright complaints created pressure.

Appeals and current legal status
Several of the convicted defendants appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Available docket records show appellate proceedings and coordinated or consolidated briefing involving Dallmann, Huber, Courson and Jaurequi. The records reflect the sentences imposed—84 months for Dallmann, 18 months for Huber, three years’ probation for Courson and time served for Jaurequi.
The available records reviewed for this account do not establish a final appellate decision as of August 18, 2026. Accordingly, it is accurate to say that appeals were filed and proceeded in the Ninth Circuit, but not that the convictions were upheld or overturned.
Jetflicks case timeline
- As early as 2007: DOJ evidence indicated that the group began operating the service.
- August 27, 2019: Eight defendants were charged in the federal case.
- February 2022: The case was transferred to Nevada for trial.
- June 18, 2024: The five trial defendants were found guilty.
- June 20, 2024: DOJ announced the convictions and statutory maximums.
- May 29–30, 2025: The five men were sentenced.
- 2025–2026: Appeals proceeded in the Ninth Circuit, with no final disposition verified in the available records.
What the case does—and does not—establish
The convictions establish the jury’s findings on the charged conspiracy and, for Dallmann, the additional counts. They do not establish that every customer knowingly participated in criminal conduct. Nor does this case concern simply watching television through a streaming device or visiting a website; the prosecution focused on alleged unauthorized copying, hosting and distribution of copyrighted programs as part of a commercial operation.
The searched material also does not reliably establish Jetflicks’ present operating status, whether any particular customer was prosecuted, the full investigative methods used by the FBI, or the final outcome of the appeals. Those questions should not be answered with assumptions.
