What did reports say happened in Palhoça?
In its August 19, 2025 report, local outlet O Município placed the collision at about 8:20 p.m. on August 18, near kilometer 227.2 of BR-101 in Palhoça, Santa Catarina. The report attributed the vehicle details to Brazil’s Federal Highway Police (PRF): Marins was riding a Honda Biz 125 when it collided with the rear of a Fiat Doblò. She was then struck by a large vehicle that was not at the scene when authorities arrived; its identity was not established in the contemporaneous accounts.

PIXTV’s August 19 report also described the third vehicle as unidentified and said authorities were investigating the collision’s dynamics.
What is known—and not known—about the collision?
The available reports do not provide a final reconstruction, a determination of fault, or an independently established medical cause of death. Their accounts do not align perfectly on the sequence of events: a later Us Weekly report published August 24 recounted a police-attributed account that Marins had motorcycle trouble and pulled to the shoulder before being struck. Because the contemporaneous accounts vary on the precise sequence, it is not possible to state that detail as a settled finding.

Us Weekly’s August 24 report said no cause of death had been shared. The careful distinction is that coverage described a fatal road collision and reported preliminary circumstances; it did not establish a separate medical cause or final official account.
