The short answer: Fallout Season 1 was temporarily available to watch free on YouTube during a January 2026 Amazon/Prime Video promotion. The offer was not permanent: the finale was scheduled for January 31, 2026, and the episodes were expected to be removed afterward. Unless an official Amazon or Prime Video listing confirms a new promotion, the normal legitimate way to watch the season is Prime Video or an eligible trial.

What was the catch?
- It was temporary. Amazon’s YouTube promotion ran during January 2026 and was expected to end around January 31.
- The episodes arrived on a schedule. Reports said two episodes were released daily, at approximately 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Pacific Time, rather than making the entire season available indefinitely at once.
- Availability could vary by region. YouTube promotions are not automatically worldwide, so viewers had to confirm that the official videos played in their country.
- Free viewing may include advertising. The reports do not establish a specific ad load, so the offer should not be described as ad-free.
- It covered Season 1 only. Watching the promotional videos did not establish access to Season 2, Prime membership benefits, or future episodes.
Is Season 1 free now?
Not on the evidence available for this article. The verified free option was a limited-time YouTube event in January 2026. A headline or social post that still says Fallout is “free this month” may be referring to that expired promotion.

If you find a video claiming to be a full episode, check that it appears on an official Amazon or Prime Video channel, includes the complete episode rather than a trailer or clip, and actually plays in your location. If the official videos are unavailable, the January offer has ended for practical purposes.
Where to watch Fallout Season 1 legitimately
Prime Video
Prime Video is the standard official home for the series. Amazon says Seasons 1 and 2 are available there. In the United States, Amazon’s June 19, 2026 update lists Prime at $14.99 per month or $139 per year; prices, plans and availability may differ elsewhere. See Amazon’s official viewing guide.

The official Prime Video listing displays a 30-day free-trial option, subject to eligibility and the terms shown to each account. This is a free trial, not permanently free access: registration may require payment information, and the subscription may renew as a paid plan unless canceled according to the applicable terms.

How many episodes are in Season 1?
The first season contains eight episodes, according to the official Prime Video listing. The series is based on Bethesda’s Fallout video-game franchise and follows vault dweller Lucy as she enters the dangerous post-apocalyptic surface world. The main cast includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins and Kyle MacLachlan.
The show is rated TV-MA or 18+ depending on the market, so viewers should expect mature violence and other adult content. Amazon’s original announcement dates the series premiere to April 11, 2024, across more than 240 countries and territories; current streaming rights and subscription offers remain region-dependent. Does the YouTube promotion include Season 2?
There is no evidence that it does. The reported YouTube event concerned the eight episodes of Season 1. Amazon’s viewing guide lists Season 2 on Prime Video, but does not say that the earlier promotional viewing window unlocked it.
Before you click “watch free”
- Verify that the channel and upload are official Amazon or Prime Video pages.
- Make sure the listing is a full episode, not a clip, recap or trailer.
- Check whether the video is available in your country.
- Look for an expiration date or removal notice.
- If a page requests payment details, treat it as a trial or subscription offer—not permanently free viewing.
- Review the renewal price and cancellation terms before starting a trial.
- Avoid mirror sites and unofficial streams, which can disappear, show deceptive advertising, carry security risks and infringe copyright.
The bottom line for viewers
Fallout Season 1 really was offered free on YouTube, but only during Amazon’s January 2026 promotional window, which ended around January 31. It should not be presented as a current, ongoing free service. For viewers catching up now, Prime Video is the official route, with a trial potentially available to eligible accounts. Neither the expired YouTube event nor a Prime trial should be described as guaranteed free access to Season 2.
