Yes. Bethesda Game Studios confirmed on July 17, 2026, that it is working on remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The studio did not announce release dates, platforms, prices, features, or preorder details, so those remain unknown.
What Bethesda confirmed
In its July 17, 2026 statement, Bethesda Game Studios said: “While we’re not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.” The wording confirms work on both projects; it does not say when either will be released.
This is an official announcement, not simply a leak or rumor. Bethesda’s statement is available in “A Note from Bethesda Game Studios”.
What is still unknown
The statement did not provide consumer or release details. Until Bethesda makes a further announcement, the following are unconfirmed:

Is Obsidian making the remasters?
Bethesda also said that Obsidian Entertainment is working with it on a new Fallout project. That is a separate item in the statement: Bethesda did not identify the remaster developers or say that Obsidian is making either remaster.

The same post described Fallout 5 as the company’s long-range destination and said it is in preproduction. Those comments do not provide a schedule for the two remasters.
How the remasters differ from existing editions
The announced remasters are not the same as editions of the original games already listed for sale. Bethesda’s Steam listing for Fallout: New Vegas identifies Obsidian Entertainment as developer, Bethesda Softworks as publisher, and October 19, 2010, as the release date. Its Ultimate edition includes the base game and six add-ons.

Bethesda’s Steam listing for Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition identifies Bethesda Game Studios as the title’s developer and October 13, 2009, as its release date. That edition includes all five add-on packs. These listings describe existing digital products, not the newly announced remasters.

Bethesda’s statement also noted that Fallout 4 had passed over 35 million copies sold, a figure the studio reported in 2026. That number is about Fallout 4, not sales or expected demand for the remasters.
