What did Ezra Blount’s family’s lawsuit allege?
The family filed a wrongful-death lawsuit naming Travis Scott, Live Nation, Apple, and others connected with the festival. The plaintiffs alleged negligent planning and insufficient concern for capacity and safety. Those were allegations, not findings of a court.
According to the Associated Press, Scott, Live Nation, and other defendants denied the allegations. They said safety was their top concern and that what happened could not have been foreseen.

Did the family settle its lawsuit?
Yes. The remaining wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Ezra’s family settled in May 2024, according to the AP, which reported the resolution on May 23. The amount and terms were confidential. A settlement does not establish that the defendants were liable, and it did not resolve other claims arising from the festival.
In an email reported by the AP, the family’s attorney, S. Scott West, said the family would continue its journey to heal while remembering the joy Ezra brought to those around him.
