Solo Leveling Season 3 has no announced release date as of October 2, 2026. Crunchyroll says the creators are actively working on the next show, but the company has “Nothing to announce.” The newly confirmed theatrical film Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is the next concrete franchise project—not a dated Season 3 premiere.
What is confirmed about Season 3
In a reported Radio Times interview, Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said: “Nothing to announce, but we are just as eager as the fans for the next show! We know the creators are actively working on it, so hopefully we can announce something soon.” The statement confirms ongoing work and confirms that Crunchyroll had no public release schedule at the time of the interview.
That distinction matters. There is no official Season 3 premiere date, episode count, announced premiere season or published revised timetable. Fan predictions of late 2026, 2027 or 2028 are projections, not confirmed scheduling information.
Why the wait is being called a delay
Season 1 debuted in 2024 and Season 2, Arise from the Shadow, arrived in 2025. By the June 1, 2026 executive update, the next show still had no public date. This is a long interval between seasons, but it is not an officially announced postponement from a previously fixed premiere: no fixed Season 3 date has been published in the available official updates.

The most accurate explanation is production and scheduling uncertainty around a major A-1 Pictures project. A-1 Pictures, an Aniplex subsidiary, remains the animation studio attached to the franchise. Neither Crunchyroll nor the official announcements disclose a specific staffing problem, story-arc issue, production bottleneck or internal cause, so stronger explanations should be treated as speculation.
Expectations are especially high because a Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) presentation recorded Solo Leveling as “Ranked #1 in Crunchyroll View Count History (as the End of March 2025).” That demonstrates exceptional demand; it does not establish that popularity caused the longer schedule.

Timeline of the next installment
| Date | What happened | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | Season 1 debuted. | The anime franchise began its television run. |
| 2025 | Season 2, Arise from the Shadow, was released. | The second season completed the latest announced TV installment. |
| June 1, 2026 | Rahul Purini said creators were actively working, while Crunchyroll had “Nothing to announce.” | Work was underway, but there was no public Season 3 schedule. |
| July 3–4, 2026 | Crunchyroll, Aniplex and the official Japanese anime site announced Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. | A theatrical continuation became the next confirmed project. |
| October 2, 2026 | No Season 3 release date had been announced in the available sources. | The TV season remains undated. |
Is Beyond the System Season 3?
No official announcement labels Solo Leveling: Beyond the System as Season 3. It is described as a theatrical continuation from the end of Season 2, with A-1 Pictures returning for animation production. Treat it as a separate movie project unless Crunchyroll, Aniplex or the official Japanese site later defines a different relationship.
The announcement changes the near-term plan for fans: there is now a confirmed film to track while the television season has no date. It does not supply a Season 3 premiere window or replace a Season 3 announcement.

What can you watch or buy while waiting?
| Option | Format | Release certainty | Access checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Watch the existing anime on Crunchyroll | Streaming | Available only where the current catalog includes the series | Confirm your territory, subscription plan and current listing before watching. |
| Follow Beyond the System | Theatrical film | Officially announced; date and local availability still need confirmation | Check Crunchyroll, Aniplex and local cinema announcements for showtimes and territory details. |
| Buy Season 2 on Blu-ray/DVD | Physical media | Official releases are listed by the anime site | Check disc region, subtitle and dub options, edition contents, seller stock and the Amazon-specific edition notice. |
| Buy licensed franchise goods | Figures, apparel, discs or theatrical merchandise | Varies by product and territory | Verify that the item is officially licensed, available in your region and sold under current terms. |
For the most reliable updates, follow announcements from Crunchyroll, Aniplex and the official Japanese anime site rather than treating unverified social-media dates as schedules. Streaming catalogs, cinema bookings and physical inventory can change by country and over time.
What has not been announced
- No Season 3 release date or confirmed premiere season.
- No official explanation identifying a particular production delay, staffing issue or scheduling bottleneck.
- No confirmed episode count for Season 3.
- No official statement that the movie is a renamed or substitute television season.
How to interpret new rumors
- Look for a dated announcement from Crunchyroll, Aniplex or the official Japanese anime site.
- Check whether the announcement names a television season, a film or another format; do not merge those labels.
- Separate a release window from a production update: “in production” does not mean a premiere date is reserved.
- Verify territory-specific streaming, cinema and disc information before making plans or purchases.
The Bottom Line
The franchise is active, but Season 3 is still unscheduled. The only newly confirmed next project is the theatrical continuation Solo Leveling: Beyond the System; any specific TV-season year remains unconfirmed.
