As of August 17, two of Apple’s August premieres are already streaming, with three more arriving later in the month. The lineup includes returning series Ted Lasso, Women in Blue and Dark Matter, the basketball documentary The Dynasty: UConn Huskies, and family animation Stillwater. Apple also has four Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders scheduled. Dates below are Apple’s announced premiere dates; episode schedules and regional availability may vary.

The four titles on Apple’s August Originals listing are Ted Lasso, Women in Blue, The Dynasty: UConn Huskies and Dark Matter. Stillwater belongs on the calendar too: Apple separately announced its August 21 return in the July press archive, though it does not appear in the August filter.

The returning comedy premiered August 5. Apple’s August listing confirms the season premiere date but does not establish a full episode calendar, so check the series page in the Apple TV app for current availability rather than assuming the whole season arrived at once.

Also known by its Spanish title, Las Azules, this returning crime drama premiered its second season August 12. Apple’s listing confirms the date, but does not specify the season’s episode count or release cadence.

Apple’s August Originals listing sets August 21 as the global premiere date for this documentary about the University of Connecticut women’s basketball program. It offers a documentary option amid a month otherwise led by returning scripted series. Apple’s listing does not state an episode count or whether the title is a one-off or a multi-episode series.
August 21: Stillwater season 4
The returning animated mindfulness series for children and families is scheduled to premiere August 21, according to Apple’s July 2026 press archive. Its absence from Apple’s August Originals filter makes the separate announcement useful when building a complete month calendar.

August 28: Dark Matter season 2
The science-fiction series returns August 28. Apple’s listing confirms the season premiere date; it does not give an episode count or establish whether episodes will arrive together or on a schedule.

Friday Night Baseball: August doubleheaders
Apple and Major League Baseball have scheduled two games each Friday on August 7, 14, 21 and 28. Apple’s announcement says the games are available to Apple TV subscribers in 60 countries and regions, with no local broadcast restrictions. The schedule uses U.S. Eastern Time; international viewers should check local listings and time conversions. Apple says announcer assignments are announced weekly, so broadcast teams are not listed here.

Apple’s official August Originals listing does not identify an August film premiere. The 2026 slate places The Dink on July 24 and Mayday on September 4, rather than in August, according to Apple’s 2026 lineup announcement.

Is Apple TV worth subscribing to in August?
In the United States, Apple’s July 2026 announcement gives the service price as $12.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. Eligible customers who buy and activate a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac may qualify for three months free, subject to offer terms. These terms and the price are U.S.-specific; check Apple’s signup page for current details in your region.
You do not need to buy an Apple TV streaming box to watch. Apple says the service is available through the Apple TV app on Apple devices and supported smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox, as well as at tv.apple.com. Apple TV is the service’s current branding on its 2026 pages; “Apple TV+” remains a familiar name used in searches.

- For international crime drama, choose Women in Blue.
- For basketball documentary viewing, The Dynasty: UConn Huskies arrives August 21.
- For children and families, Stillwater returns the same day.

Apple’s August lineup is focused rather than broad: its appeal depends on whether these returning shows, the UConn documentary, family programming or baseball match what you want to watch.
