The list ranges from episodes built around the holiday to stories with a Thanksgiving connection inside a broader plot. “Bart vs. Thanksgiving” is the clearest full-episode example; “Thanksgiving of Horror” is an anthology of three holiday-themed stories. The two later entries are less firmly established as Thanksgiving-centered, so they are identified below as borderline.
The Simpsons Thanksgiving episodes in original air order
The titles below appear together in a broad published roundup, rather than an official network classification. The distinction matters: some stories put Thanksgiving at the center, while others qualify through a parade, a segment, or a less clearly documented holiday connection.

The episodes with a clear Thanksgiving focus
“Bart vs. Thanksgiving” (Season 2, Episode 7)
At the family’s Thanksgiving meal, Bart and Lisa argue over Lisa’s centerpiece. After Bart destroys it and is sent to his room, he runs away. It is the most directly holiday-centered episode in this list. FOX’s Every Simpsons Ever schedule places it in the Season 2 lineup, and TV Guide’s Season 2 episode guide describes the family conflict. The episode’s original air date was November 22, 1990.
“Homer vs. Dignity” (Season 12, Episode 5)
The holiday connection is a parade plot rather than a Thanksgiving dinner. Burns wants Homer, dressed as Santa, to spoil the parade, but Homer draws a line. Apple TV lists the episode as Season 12, Episode 5, gives its November 26, 2000 release date, and summarizes the parade story: Apple TV episode listing.

This anthology offers three different takes on the holiday: a turkey-centered version of the first Thanksgiving, an AI Marge made to prepare dinner, and a cranberry sauce creature on a space mission. Its November 24, 2019 air date is close to Thanksgiving, and the episode’s structure makes it a holiday collection rather than one continuous Thanksgiving plot. The season and story details are documented on the fan-maintained Wikisimpsons episode page.

“Homer the Moe” (Season 13, Episode 3)
This episode appears in the six-title roundup, but the available episode information here does not establish Thanksgiving as its setting or central subject. Treat it as a roundup entry, not as a confirmed holiday-centered story.
Rank #2
- Factory sealed DVD
“The Wettest Stories Ever Told” (Season 17, Episode 18)
The roundup includes this episode despite its April 23, 2006 original air date. The available information does not identify the Thanksgiving-related material or show whether it is a full-episode setting or a segment. Its inclusion therefore should not be read as evidence that it is a conventional Thanksgiving special.
“It’s a Blunderful Life” (Season 35, Episode 7)
This title is also on the roundup, but the available information does not establish how directly its plot revolves around Thanksgiving. It belongs in a broad list with that qualification, rather than being presented as a verified Thanksgiving-centered episode.

How to use the list
- For the most direct Thanksgiving family story, start with “Bart vs. Thanksgiving.”
- For a parade-related holiday plot, choose “Homer vs. Dignity.”
- For multiple genre twists tied to the holiday, watch “Thanksgiving of Horror.”
- Regard the six as a commonly published roundup, not a definitive official FOX taxonomy; the three entries in the borderline section have less clearly established Thanksgiving connections.
