Eastlink Stream was a 2016 IPTV app built to make eligible Eastlink TV customers’ live and on-demand programming easier to browse and search in one place. It is no longer available, Eastlink says; the company’s current TiVo Stream service is a separate offering, not a confirmed continuation of the old app.
What Eastlink Stream was designed to do
At launch, Eastlink positioned Stream as a simpler way to discover and watch television. The app combined eligible live and on-demand content in one interface, with search across a customer’s available library. Eastlink launched it on Cisco’s Infinite Video Platform, which Cisco described as supporting personalized experiences and multiple devices; that platform description does not establish that every capability appeared in every version of Eastlink Stream.
Lee Bragg, then Eastlink’s CEO, said: “We asked our customers what they wanted in a TV streaming service, and what consistently came up was the need to get back to simple TV.” Cisco’s launch announcement attributes the statement to Bragg.
Who could use it at launch
Eastlink Stream was not presented as a universal replacement for every streaming subscription. A September 8, 2016 report said access was for eligible Eastlink TV customers and reflected the programming in their TV package; basic TV-only customers were excluded at that time. The launch report counted 59 live channels and on-demand services in the catalog. That is a reported 2016 launch figure, not a current catalog count or an independently verified Eastlink figure. MobileSyrup’s September 2016 coverage describes the launch offer and catalog.

The promise of “one app” concerned access and discovery within the customer’s eligible Eastlink content. The launch coverage does not establish that outside streaming subscriptions were included or that the app consolidated every third-party service.
Is Eastlink Stream still available?
No. Eastlink’s legacy-services page says, “Eastlink Stream is no longer available.” The notice does not give a shutdown date or describe a migration path, so neither should be inferred.

What Eastlink streaming options exist now?
Eastlink currently documents TiVo Stream and network Go apps. They are distinct access routes with different requirements; Eastlink has not established that either is a direct successor to the discontinued Eastlink Stream app.
| Option | What it provides | Requirements and limits |
|---|---|---|
| TiVo Stream | Eastlink’s current TiVo Stream TV experience and mobile app, for eligible subscribed content. | Eastlink says app use requires a TiVo Stream TV subscription and at least one TiVo set-top box. Use is in Canada over a stable internet connection, and content depends on the subscription and geographic availability. See Eastlink’s TiVo Stream page. |
| Go apps | Network apps such as STACKTV, TSN, and Sportsnet, accessed according to the customer’s Eastlink TV package. | Available apps and channels vary by TV package. See Eastlink’s Go-app guidance. |
For TiVo Stream app compatibility, Eastlink’s support page lists iOS 17 or higher and Android 9 or higher, along with supported unmanaged TV-device families and operating-system versions. Device support can change, so check Eastlink’s current compatibility list before relying on a particular device.
