Spoilers for season 1, episode 2, “Two Wolves.” After the deaths of Pruwet Richese and Truthsayer Kasha, Valya Harkonnen travels to the Imperial House to contain the fallout. On Wallach IX, meanwhile, Lila undergoes the dangerous Agony in hopes of reaching her dead mother. Valya’s effort to control Desmond Hart ends with her palace privileges revoked, while Lila wakes from an encounter whose consequences remain uncertain.
What happens after the deaths of Pruwet and Kasha?
“Two Wolves” picks up with both the Imperial family and the Sisterhood reckoning with the deaths of young Pruwet Richese and Truthsayer Kasha. Valya heads to Salusa Secundus, the seat of Imperial power, intending to manage the crisis and assess Desmond Hart, the soldier whose actions have made him central to the court’s turmoil.
Kasha’s death also deepens Valya’s concern about Raquella’s prophecy. A Suk doctor describes an internal heat source and an acute imbalance in Kasha’s meridian network. Valya connects that explanation to the prophecy, treating the death as a possible sign of a larger threat rather than an isolated tragedy.
Why can’t Valya control Desmond Hart?
Valya arrives believing the Sisterhood’s influence can help her steer the Imperial response. But Hart does not yield to her authority or her use of the Voice. Instead, he tells her that the Emperor no longer requires her services and revokes her palace privileges.

The reversal leaves Valya with less direct access to the ruler she came to influence. Hart’s resistance makes clear that her training and political position do not give her easy command over him.
Why does Lila undergo the Agony?
Before leaving for the Imperial House, Valya directs Tula to have Lila undergo the Agony, a perilous rite that the Sisterhood uses in an attempt to reach ancestral memory. Valya hopes Lila’s experience may reveal more about Raquella’s prophecy. Lila has her own reason to take the risk: her mother has died, and she hopes the rite might allow her to reach her.

The episode presents the Agony through its mystical and ancestral-memory framework; it does not offer a scientific explanation for what Lila experiences.
What does Dorotea say to Lila?
During the ordeal, Dorotea appears through Lila and confronts her with a grievance against the Harkonnens: “Harkonnen, you stole my future.” Dorotea’s accusation ties Lila’s personal experience to the Sisterhood’s history and its internal conflict over the Harkonnens’ influence.

Lila wakes in the Wallach IX medical bay. The episode confirms that she survives the immediate ordeal, but leaves unresolved what Dorotea’s appearance means and what consequences Lila may face.
What does “Two Wolves” suggest about the Sisterhood?
The title can be read as a frame for competing approaches to power and duty. Valya represents an institutional strategy: preserve the Sisterhood’s influence by shaping the Emperor’s decisions. Dorotea’s opposition, expressed through her accusation, challenges the Harkonnens’ ambition to steer the Imperium. That contrast is an interpretation of the episode, not a confirmed statement of creator intent.
