Dune: Part Two began streaming on Max in the United States on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. That date has already passed. The film was available to rent or buy digitally earlier, on April 16, 2024, while its U.S. 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release followed on May 14.
The U.S. Max streaming date
Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Dune: Part Two would begin streaming on Max on May 21, 2024. Max is the current name of the service formerly known as HBO Max.

This was a subscription-streaming release, not a simultaneous theatrical and streaming premiere. Unlike the first Dune film’s 2021 release strategy, the sequel opened in theaters first and arrived on Max later.

The film’s paid digital release came on April 16, 2024. Viewers could rent or purchase it through participating digital stores before it became part of the U.S. Max catalog.

In other words, “available online” did not initially mean “included with a streaming subscription.” Contemporary coverage, including Forbes’ clarification of the release terminology, highlighted this distinction.
How to watch Dune: Part Two now
Max
If the film is currently included in your local Max catalog, a qualifying Max subscription lets you watch it without a separate rental charge. Check the official Max service and confirm that your plan specifically includes Max access. A Prime Video, Hulu, cable, or satellite subscription does not automatically guarantee access to Max.
Catalogs, plan features, advertising, video quality, and simultaneous-stream limits can vary by plan and country. Max availability can also change, so the original 2024 release announcement should not be treated as a permanent catalog guarantee.

Digital rental or purchase
If you do not want a recurring subscription, search for the film on authorized stores such as Apple TV, Prime Video, or Fandango at Home. Retailer lineups, prices, playback features, and viewing windows may change.

At launch, reported U.S. pricing was approximately $24.99 for a 48-hour rental and $29.99 to purchase, according to Forbes. Those were 2024 launch prices, not a current price quote.
A rental provides temporary access. A digital purchase generally provides continuing access through the retailer account, but it is a platform-linked license rather than an unrestricted video file. A purchase on Apple, Amazon, or another store does not transfer to Max.
4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD
The U.S. physical release arrived on May 14, 2024. Physical editions avoid dependence on a changing streaming catalog and may appeal to collectors or home-theater viewers. They do, however, require compatible disc hardware and have a higher upfront cost. Edition-specific picture, sound, and bonus-feature claims should be checked against the exact product listing.

May 21, 2024 was the U.S. Max date, not a worldwide streaming date. International rights were handled by territory. Max’s regional rollout included several European markets, while contemporary reporting noted that U.K. viewers initially had paid digital access rather than the U.S. Max release.

If you are outside the U.S., check your local Max catalog and authorized digital storefront. Availability may differ between the U.K., Canada, Australia, and other countries, and it can change over time. Do not assume that a U.S. subscription or release date applies in another region.

If you cannot find it on Max

- Update the app, then sign out and back in if search results appear stale.
- If it is unavailable in your region, check legitimate digital retailers.
A title being available through Prime Video, Apple TV, or another retailer does not mean it is included with Max. Avoid relying on VPN workarounds: they may conflict with service terms and do not guarantee playback.
Also, do not assume that every digital or streaming edition includes the same aspect ratio, audio mix, or bonus features. Those details can vary by platform and format.
