Yes—Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is officially set for production. Toei Animation announced the project on January 25, 2026, describing it as a continuation after the anime’s Universe Survival Arc and connecting its story to the manga’s Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc. Goku and Vegeta join the Galactic Patrol to face “Planet-Eater” Moro. The announcement does not give a release date or viewing platform.
Is the Galactic Patrol anime officially happening?
Yes. Toei Animation said the anime was “officially set for production” at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in Japan on January 25, 2026. Shueisha also confirmed production of a new anime based on the Dragon Ball Super manga in a notice dated January 29, 2026.
Toei’s announcement establishes the project’s production status, but it does not announce a premiere date, episode count, broadcaster, streaming service, or regional release schedule.
What story does it adapt, and where does it fit?
Toei describes The Galactic Patrol as the newest arc of the Dragon Ball Super anime, following the Universe Survival Arc, which the studio says aired from 2015 to 2018. The story’s counterpart in the manga is named the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc. The Toei Animation announcement and the Dragon Ball Official Site both make this anime-to-manga connection.

That places the announced story after the anime’s Universe Survival Arc; it does not establish an episode count, a broadcast schedule, or how the adaptation will divide the manga material.
Who is Moro, and what is the Galactic Patrol?
In Toei’s official synopsis, Son Goku and Vegeta work with members of the Galactic Patrol, which the studio describes as the galaxy’s peacekeepers, in a large-scale battle against “Planet-Eater” Moro. That is the announced premise. The production notice does not provide further detail about Moro’s history, abilities, or the arc’s ending.

When will it come out, and where can you watch it?
No premiere date or viewing platform is given in the official production announcement. As of October 8, 2026, Toei’s notice remains the basis for the project details described here; a release window, episode total, and territory-specific availability are not established by the cited announcement. Treat those details as unknown unless a later official notice confirms them.
Do not confuse The Galactic Patrol with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, a separate project. The Dragon Ball Official Site lists a Fall 2026 premiere for Beerus; that date does not apply to The Galactic Patrol.
