Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premieres in Japan on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 11:15 p.m. JST. The project is an enhanced edition of the Dragon Ball Super TV anime, with added and redrawn scenes and a reconstructed story—not a wholly new sequel. Crunchyroll has announced streaming from October 11, though its announcement does not establish which territories or language tracks are included.
When does Dragon Ball Super: Beerus come out?
The Japan premiere is Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 11:15 p.m. Japan Standard Time. Fuji TV lists a 30-minute broadcast slot, ending at 11:45 p.m. JST. The series site first announced a Fall 2026 release window before the exact date and time were confirmed.
The official series-site premiere update gives the date and time, while Fuji TV’s listing supplies the broadcast slot. The date refers to Japan; it does not establish when the series will air on television in other countries.
Is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus a remake?
It is best described using the official term: an “ENHANCED” edition of Dragon Ball Super. The announcement says the anime will “begin anew,” and Fuji TV describes added and redrawn scenes alongside a reconstructed story. The stated aim is a more faithful and detailed presentation of Akira Toriyama’s original work.
#1 Best Overall
That makes “remake” a useful shorthand, but it can suggest a fully new production or a sequel. The official description instead positions this as an enhanced version of the existing anime. It does not quantify how much footage is new, how episode runtimes may change, or provide a frame-by-frame comparison with the original. The January 25, 2026 announcement introduced the enhanced-edition framing; Fuji TV’s programme description specifies added and redrawn material.
What is the story?
The story takes place several years after the battle with Majin Buu. Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens and hears about the Saiyan who defeated Frieza. He then confronts Goku, placing Earth at risk. The premise is the same arc introduced by the original Dragon Ball Super anime, presented in this enhanced edition.

Where can you watch it?
Crunchyroll announced that streaming begins October 11, 2026. The announcement establishes the platform and start date, but not the territories, subtitles, dubs, or other language options. Check the service’s listing for your region as the release approaches rather than assuming the Japan broadcast details apply worldwide. Crunchyroll News reported the streaming announcement on October 5, 2026.
Who is making the series, and what are its songs?
The official franchise-site credits name Akira Toriyama for original work, story, and character design. The listed production staff includes Matsuto Seya for composition and directorial arrangement, Tadayoshi Yamamuro for animation character design and chief animation direction, Eichi Nishimura for editing, Yosuke Motoki for compositing direction, and Norihito Sumitomo for music.

The opening theme is “ONOGAMI” by MEGATERA・ZERO, and the ending theme is “Kan Peki No Peki” by VK Blanka. Both performers have described growing up with Dragon Ball in comments published by the official site. The September 2, 2026 official update contains the theme-song announcement, comments, and credits.

A first-episode world-premiere advance screening and panel are scheduled for October 8, 2026, at New York Comic Con. The official announcement also mentions giveaways for panel attendees; that is an event detail, not confirmation of a retail product. The official September update has the event information.
