Adult Vegeta turns Super Saiyan 3 in Dragon Ball Daima episode 12, during his fight with Tamagami Number Two. That is his debut in the canon anime story—not the first time the form has appeared on Vegeta in any Dragon Ball media: earlier games had already featured versions of him as Super Saiyan 3.
What happens in Daima episode 12?
According to Meristation’s episode report, published January 2, 2025, Vegeta reaches Super Saiyan 3 after Super Saiyan 2 proves insufficient against Tamagami Number Two. The transformation lets him defeat the opponent.
The moment gives the adult-era Vegeta a form long familiar to fans from other contexts, but places it in the story of Daima. The distinction is about where the transformation occurs: in the canon anime narrative rather than only in a game appearance.
Was this the first Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta ever?
No. Meristation’s report notes earlier Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta appearances in games including Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Battlers (2009), Dragon Ball: Raging Blast, Dragon Ball Heroes and Dragon Ball Fusions. Those appearances mean “first time in canon” should not be read as “first time across the franchise.”

|---|---|---|
| Where does Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta appear? | In the games listed in Meristation’s report. | In the anime story, fighting Tamagami Number Two. |
| What does “first” mean here? | Not a first appearance across all media. | The reported canon anime debut for adult Vegeta. |
Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Legends character page also lists a Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta tagged “DAIMA” and identifies his setting as the “DAIMA Saga.” That confirms the game has a Daima-associated character entry; it does not, by itself, establish the anime continuity claim.
Where can you play as Daima’s Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta?

The transformation discussed here belongs to Dragon Ball Daima, not the newly announced Dragon Ball Super: Beerus project. The official Dragon Ball website’s January 25, 2026 update says Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will begin anew as an enhanced edition, with a fall 2026 premiere in Japan. That announcement is separate franchise context; it does not place Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 transformation in that series.
