Dragon Ball DAIMA episode 3, “Daima,” takes Goku, Supreme Kai, and Glorio into the Demon Realm—and gives the series its first substantial action payoff. That makes “first real taste of action” a fair way to describe the episode’s role after the earlier setup, though it is a critical interpretation rather than an official series milestone. The restaurant brawl, hostile new setting, and stolen-ship reveal make the episode an entertaining turning point.

The change of setting is the episode’s key move: the trio are no longer simply preparing for an unfamiliar adventure; they have arrived somewhere that immediately pushes back. TV Guide’s episode guide describes the group encountering thugs at a restaurant, where Goku dispatches them. It also notes the later discovery that their ship has been stolen. TV Guide’s episode guide provides the fight and the closing complication.
Why it feels like the show’s first real action episode
“First” needs a little care here. It is not a verified production or franchise milestone, and the phrase should not be taken to mean that nothing happens in episodes 1 and 2. It describes a shift in emphasis: after those episodes establish the premise, episode 3 brings the main trio into the Demon Realm and gives Goku a clear, sustained confrontation with hostile locals.

The restaurant fight is a useful marker because it turns the new world’s danger into something immediate and physical. The episode’s action is not separate from its setup: the encounter introduces the group to the kind of trouble they may face in the Demon Realm. Crunchyroll News likewise framed the installment around the action continuing as Goku makes it to the Demon Realm in its October 28, 2024 episode recap.
Why the episode is enjoyable
Calling the episode “amazing” is an opinion, but there is a concrete case for the enthusiasm. It pairs a meaningful change of scenery with an uncomplicated, satisfying display of Goku’s fighting ability, then ends on a complication that keeps the journey moving. The stolen ship means reaching the Demon Realm does not instantly make travel easy; the group has a new problem as soon as they settle into the new world.

A contemporary review from But Why Tho? also discusses the episode’s balance of character focus and action, describing the journey of Goku, Supreme Kai, and Glorio into the Demon Realm. That is one critic’s reading, not evidence of a universal consensus: But Why Tho?’s episode review.
What episode 3 sets up next
The stolen-ship reveal is the episode’s forward-looking hook. The trio have reached the Third Demon World, but the theft leaves their means of travel in question and gives the next installment an immediate obstacle to address. It is a modest cliffhanger rather than a full change to the series’ premise, but it neatly converts the arrival into the start of a new leg of the adventure.
