Spoiler-aware review: this covers the premiere’s setup and central premise, but avoids later-episode revelations.
“Conspiracy,” the first episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA, sets up a clear new journey: a conspiracy shrinks Goku and his companions, and the trail leads toward the Demon Realm. The premiere’s key balancing act is familiar to the franchise—reorient viewers to its world while making room for a fresh mystery. Whether that lore recap feels like useful grounding or a speed bump, and whether the smaller-character premise lands as comedy, adventure, and action, are the questions that define the episode.

What happens in “Conspiracy”?
Crunchyroll identifies the premiere as “Conspiracy” and describes an opening that establishes Dragon Ball lore and rules before moving into the new story. The official series premise says Goku and company are living peacefully when a conspiracy suddenly makes them small. Their investigation points toward a world called the Demon Realm, and a mysterious young Majin named Glorio enters as a possible connection to it.
That is the episode’s central hook: not simply that Goku is smaller, but that the change has an apparent cause and sends the group somewhere new. Glorio’s introduction gives the destination a character-shaped point of entry rather than leaving it as a name on a map. The premise promises a new setting and a mystery, while keeping the familiar cast at its center.

Does the premiere’s recap help or slow the story?
The recap is a deliberate part of the opening, not incidental background. It establishes lore and rules before the conspiracy takes over. For returning viewers, that can reconnect the new adventure to the franchise’s accumulated world; for newcomers, the more important test is whether those details are enough to understand the present problem without requiring a memory of every earlier arc.
The premise and official recap establish the order of events, but they do not settle how smoothly the episode moves between explanation and plot. That is the first useful measure of the premiere: whether the lore serves the new mystery, or asks the audience to wait too long for it. The episode’s story becomes legible once the shrinking is linked to a conspiracy and the Demon Realm becomes the direction of the investigation.

Is the smaller-Goku premise an appealing change of scale?
Shrinking Goku and his companions changes the adventure’s physical scale while preserving the larger stakes of finding out who is behind the conspiracy. It also creates room for a lighter register: a familiar hero navigating the world in a different-sized body can support comedy, while the Demon Realm offers a reason for the story to move beyond the initial gag.
That blend is the premiere’s promise, not a verdict guaranteed by the premise alone. The relevant question is whether the episode lets the comedy coexist with forward motion and a credible sense of danger. If the change in size feels like a route into a new adventure rather than the whole joke, it gives the series a flexible starting point.
Does Glorio make the Demon Realm feel worth exploring?
Glorio is introduced as a mysterious young Majin tied to the Demon Realm. That connection makes him the premiere’s clearest bridge between the shrinking incident and the new destination. Rather than explaining the entire realm at once, the setup leaves room for the audience to learn what it means through the people and events Goku encounters there.
The premiere therefore plants a question more than it answers one: what is Glorio’s relationship to the conspiracy, and what kind of world is the Demon Realm? The setup gives the series a reason to continue, though the depth of that world—and whether it can sustain a full adventure—depends on what follows.
