Donald Trump’s publicly documented car history includes a seven-figure Lamborghini Diablo, a Ferrari F430, a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, branded Cadillac limousines, an Indianapolis 500 Camaro and an early Tesla Roadster. The important qualification is that this is a record of cars he owned, was reported to own, or associated with his businesses—not a verified list of everything currently sitting in his garage.
The clearest centerpiece is the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster Trump ordered new and owned from 1997 to 2002. Barrett-Jackson sold that former Trump-owned car in Scottsdale in January 2024 for $1.1 million. Other vehicles have less complete ownership histories, so each one needs to be described with care.
Why “Trump’s car collection” needs a qualification
Celebrity-car lists often combine several different categories: personally owned vehicles, cars displayed at a business, promotional projects, cars acquired by relatives or affiliates, and official vehicles used because someone holds public office. Those categories are not interchangeable.
For this article, the labels mean:
- Former Trump-owned: credible ownership is documented, but a later sale or auction means the car should not be presented as a current holding.
- Reported ownership: multiple sources associate the vehicle with Trump, but the purchase, sale or present-owner timeline is incomplete.
- Trump-associated: the vehicle was part of a business, branding or presidential project rather than a verified private collectible.
The public record available through August 11, 2026 does not provide a complete inventory, a reliable total value, or VIN-level documentation for every vehicle. The most accurate answer is therefore a tour of the best-documented past and present associations.

1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster: the standout
If one car deserves to be called the star of the story, it is the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster. Trump ordered the car new in 1997 and specified Blu Le Mans paint, a color reportedly unavailable for that model year. The car also carried a plaque identifying it as Trump’s 1997 Diablo, giving the provenance a physical detail rather than relying only on a seller’s description.
Reporting places Trump’s ownership from 1997 until 2002. That makes the car a former Trump-owned vehicle, not a current one. Barrett-Jackson sold it at its Scottsdale auction in January 2024 for $1.1 million.
The sale made sense as a collector-car event. The Diablo combined a dramatic open-top body with a V12 engine and manual transmission, while the unusual blue specification and Trump provenance added a story that most comparable cars do not have. The auction result is a price for that particular car at that particular time—not evidence that every Diablo, or Trump’s wider collection, is worth a similar amount.
Optional collector note: For readers who want a display piece inspired by the car, a Lamborghini Diablo VT model car is the honest description. Nothing in the available record verifies an official Trump-branded miniature, so a generic scale model of the Diablo should not be marketed as an officially licensed Donald Trump collectible.
2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe: strong provenance, incomplete ending
Trump bought a red Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe new from Ferrari of Long Island in 2007. The reported specification included a tan interior and low mileage. That combination—new-car purchase, recognizable owner and relatively little use—made the Ferrari attractive to collectors when it later appeared on the market.
The ownership timeline becomes less straightforward after that. The Washington Post reported that the car sold in April 2017 for $270,000. Later auction coverage described what was presented as the same Trump-owned F430 being offered again. Mecum’s 2025 description identified the car as Trump-owned and placed it in the company’s Kissimmee 2026 auction cycle.
That last point should be read as an auction offering, not automatically as a completed sale. The available record does not establish a definitive final buyer or the Ferrari’s current owner after the later offering. It is therefore accurate to call the F430 a documented former Trump-owned car with later auction activity, but not to say that Trump still owns it.
The Ferrari also shows why celebrity provenance can matter in the collector market. A car’s condition, mileage, specification and documentation remain important, but a credible connection to a famous owner can become part of the vehicle’s appeal. It does not, however, eliminate the need to verify title history and final sale results.
1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud: an early luxury association
Multiple automotive reports identify a 1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud as one of Trump’s early cars and, in some accounts, one of his favorites. It fits the luxury-and-status side of the story: the Silver Cloud was an imposing postwar Rolls-Royce rather than a track-focused exotic.

The model itself was produced from 1955 through 1958, and 2,238 Silver Cloud I examples were built. Those figures describe the model, not the specific car associated with Trump. Auction records for unrelated 1956 Silver Clouds cannot be used to prove the identity, equipment or value of his particular vehicle.
The most defensible wording is therefore reported long-term or former ownership. It is a meaningful part of Trump’s automotive biography, but the evidence is weaker than the Diablo’s documented auction history and does not establish that the Rolls-Royce remains in his possession.
2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren: the Trump Tower supercar
Automotive coverage repeatedly lists a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren among Trump’s cars and reports that it was displayed outside Trump Tower. The SLR was a limited-production grand tourer jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren and produced from 2003 to 2010.

But the public reporting does not provide a purchase record and complete sale history comparable to the Diablo. The SLR should remain in the reported ownership category, with no claim about its present owner.
The Trump Golden and Trump Executive limousines
The most distinctive oddballs in the story may be the two Trump-branded Cadillac limousine projects developed in the late 1980s. Trump worked with Cadillac and coachbuilder Dillinger-Gaines on a lavish Trump Golden Series and a somewhat less extravagant Trump Executive Series.
These were intended for VIP transportation and brand promotion. The Golden Series was described with gold-tone trim, upgraded interiors and gold-stripe whitewall tires. The Executive Series occupied a lower rung in the same branded hierarchy, but both vehicles turned the limousine into an extension of the Trump name.
They should not be treated as ordinary personal collector cars without stronger title records. Their importance is primarily historical and commercial: they show Trump using a vehicle as a mobile luxury advertisement. In that sense, they may say more about his approach to branding than about his private taste in cars.
2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Edition
The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Edition provides the collection’s most recognizably American entry. Trump was selected to drive the Camaro SS convertible pace car at the 2011 Indianapolis 500 but reportedly declined the driving role. Coverage says he acquired an official Camaro Pace Car Edition for his collection instead.

That reported acquisition is notable because the Camaro is so different from the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz. It is a limited-edition American performance car tied to a major event rather than a European luxury or exotic model.
There is limited public documentation of what happened to the Camaro afterward. It belongs in the reported-ownership section, not in a count of vehicles that can be confirmed as part of Trump’s present garage.
The early Tesla Roadster: an electric outlier
Several reports also associate Trump with an early Tesla Roadster. The car stands out because it represents the first generation of high-performance electric vehicles, placing an emerging technology alongside Trump’s conventional V12 supercar, Ferrari and luxury limousines.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsOne report characterized the purchase as partly an opportunity to assess the developing electric-car business. That is a reported motivation, not an established fact that should be stated without attribution. The precise Roadster, its purchase details and its current ownership are not verified in the available record.
For that reason, the Tesla is best described as an early Roadster reported to have been owned by Trump. It is an interesting contrast, but not a basis for claiming that Trump maintained a defined electric-car collection.
Other vehicles that appear in secondary lists
Secondary lists sometimes add a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mercedes-Benz S600, Bentley Continental GT, Cadillac Escalade and additional Ferraris. These may reflect genuine vehicles connected to Trump at some point, but the available evidence does not support treating them as equally verified with the Diablo or Ferrari.
The problem is not that every mention is necessarily wrong. It is that the public record does not consistently identify the specific car, establish personal title, distinguish a business vehicle from a private one, or document what happened to it later. A responsible list can mention these as reported additions, but it should not use them to produce an exact collection count.

Why the presidential Cadillac is not part of the collection
The armored Cadillac presidential state car commonly known as The Beast must be kept separate. It is a government and Secret Service vehicle, not a personal Trump collectible. Trump traveled in the Cadillac state car during his first presidency, but official use does not create private ownership.

Later reporting also described a newer armored Cadillac Escalade being used for presidential travel in 2026. That vehicle belongs in the same official-transport category. It should not be confused with the Cadillac Escalade that appears in some secondary lists of Trump-associated personal or business vehicles.
What can—and cannot—be concluded
The documented cars reveal three recurring themes:
- Luxury and status: the Silver Cloud, SLR McLaren and branded limousines reflect an interest in conspicuous luxury.
- Flashy exotics: the Diablo and Ferrari supply the unmistakable supercar appeal, with the Diablo providing the strongest documented auction story.
- Brand-building and contrast: the Cadillac limousines, Indianapolis 500 Camaro and Tesla Roadster show vehicles being used for promotion, public image or technological contrast.
What cannot responsibly be concluded is an exact present-day vehicle count or a total collection value. The $1.1 million Diablo sale and the Ferrari’s reported $270,000 2017 result are individual transaction figures. They are not a valuation of every car Trump ever owned, and they cannot be added together to create a defensible portfolio estimate.
The cleanest summary is that Trump has been associated with a fascinating mixture of ultra-luxury cars, European exotics, American promotional vehicles and unusual branded limousines. The Lamborghini is the strongest documented former holding; the Ferrari has a substantial but unfinished auction trail; and much of the rest remains a matter of reported association rather than a publicly verified current garage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Donald Trump still own the Lamborghini Diablo?
No. The documented 1997 Diablo was reportedly owned by Trump from 1997 to 2002 and was sold by Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale in January 2024 for $1.1 million. It should be described as a former Trump-owned car.
How many cars are in Donald Trump’s current collection?
There is no authoritative public inventory that establishes a current number. Published lists combine personal cars, business projects, reported associations and official vehicles, so an exact count would overstate what the evidence proves.
Is the presidential Cadillac known as The Beast part of Trump’s car collection?
No. The Beast is a government and Secret Service vehicle used for presidential transportation. It is not Trump’s personal property or a private collectible.

Bottom line: Donald Trump’s car story is real, but it is not a verified current inventory. The former Trump-owned 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster is the unquestionable headline car thanks to its unusual Blu Le Mans specification and $1.1 million 2024 sale. The Ferrari F430, Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Mercedes SLR McLaren form the luxury-exotic core, while the Cadillac limousines, Camaro and Tesla Roadster supply the oddities and contrasts. Official presidential vehicles belong in a separate category.
