They marry and raise a family
Their story continues through marriage. CBS describes Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage as a sequel following them as they raise their young family in Texas and face adulthood, parenting, and marriage. That is the premise of the sequel, not confirmation of a particular eventual breakup.
What The Big Bang Theory adds—and leaves unanswered
In the later franchise timeline, Sheldon refers to Georgie having an ex-wife and another ex-wife. TVLine’s recap of the proposal episode discusses that continuity. The reference establishes that Georgie has two ex-wives by the time of The Big Bang Theory; it does not identify either woman or say why either marriage ended.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage continues their story after Young Sheldon while existing franchise continuity points to Georgie having ex-wives later. Creator Steve Holland has discussed the sequel’s relationship to the existing franchise in TheWrap’s interview. That context explains the continuity challenge; it is not evidence for a specific cause of separation.

For now, the careful answer is that no confirmed reason for a Mandy-and-Georgie breakup is established by these references. Their marriage and family are part of the sequel’s premise, while the later ex-wife mentions do not say whether Mandy is one of those ex-wives or what happened between them.
