What happens in “Wellness Week”?
Spoilers ahead. Wellness influencer Bethany Welles boards the Odyssey with her personal chef, Vivian. The ship’s wellness-minded guests include Judy and Agnes, whose alternative remedies soon produce more emergencies than cures. Meanwhile, Avery tells Max and Tristan she has earned a scholarship to medical school—then becomes a patient herself when appendicitis strikes.
Avery’s appendicitis and the hurricane
With the storm threatening the vessel, Max and Tristan perform an emergency appendectomy aboard ship. Captain Massey works to get the Odyssey through the hurricane by “riding the trough,” steering through the waves. The medical emergency and the ship’s safety crisis unfold at the same time, placing the operation in the episode’s central stretch of tension. TVLine’s recap details the surgery and storm sequence; ABC’s synopsis also emphasizes the ailing patients and Captain Massey’s effort to bring the ship to safety.
Judy, Agnes, and “Diva Dust”
Judy and Agnes blend a smoothie they call “Diva Dust,” claiming it can cure dyslexia and hiccups. After drinking it, Agnes experiences kidney failure. Later, during an acupuncture session, Agnes punctures Judy’s lung. These are fictional plot events and the characters’ claims; the episode does not provide medical guidance, and “Diva Dust” should not be treated as a real remedy.
