Epic described the presentation as exclusive to Fortnite. Disney later characterized the island as an interactive social watch party made with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), with cheering, mini-games and visual effects, in its August 11, 2024 recap.
What Disney announced in the presentation
Disney’s recap said leaders from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios discussed upcoming Fortnite content and Disney’s planned collaboration with Epic. The recap listed announcements including:

The attendance reward and audience figure
Epic said players who spent 10 minutes on the island would receive the Peelverine Plush Back Bling and XP on August 16. The Back Bling was a digital in-game cosmetic, not a physical product, and Epic noted that it was not exclusive to the livestream and might later be offered in the Shop.

Disney’s 2024 recap reported more than 1.3 million concurrent players watching live in Fortnite. That is Disney’s reported figure; the recap does not describe it as an independent audit.

The showcase connected Fortnite’s in-game entertainment format with Disney’s wider experiences business. In the recap, Josh D’Amaro, then chairman of Disney Experiences, emphasized that the projects being discussed were in active development: “At Disney Experiences, Imagineers dream, create, design and build these stories into real places. And we have Imagineers in place right now all around the world because everything we’re going to share with you is in active development. Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving. I just want to be clear about this: We are doing everything you’re going to hear tonight.”
