Floor796 is an expanding animated art scene set on the 796th floor of an imagined space station. Created by animator 0x00, it layers references to movies, games, anime and memes into a sprawling visual world. It is best approached as an interactive illustration to explore—not as a conventional game with a campaign or required progression.
What is Floor796?
Floor796 is a browser-based animation project built around one enormous imagined station floor. Its appeal lies in looking around the scene, noticing how its many cultural references and settings fit together, and returning as the illustration grows. The project description quoted by Boing Boing describes the goal as creating “as huge animation as possible” with references to movies, games, anime and memes.
That makes “hidden universe” a useful way to describe its density, not evidence of a documented plot or a game-style sequence of secrets. The available sources establish an animated scene and a browser editor for creating scenes, but do not establish a campaign, player character or required progression.
What can you look for in the scene?
The creator’s portfolio shows the range of settings associated with Floor796, including a library, flea market, bioengineering research lab and cemetery, alongside themed scenes. These examples suggest a world assembled from sharply different environments rather than a single uniform room.

As you explore, scan across rooms and settings for recognizable references and small visual details. The portfolio documents the variety of scenes, but it is not a current inventory of clickable features. The official Floor796 homepage returned only a loading message when checked on October 8, 2026, so the precise current interaction list could not be verified. Treat any specific claim about clickable characters, quests, sound or navigation controls as unconfirmed unless the live site shows it.
Who makes Floor796, and is it still growing?
Animator 0x00 is the project’s creator. The creator’s portfolio displays named blocks through block 61 at the time it was accessed; that is a snapshot, not a permanent total or a statement that the project is complete.

The creator noted that the Floor796 subreddit is unofficial and not managed by them, although they post updates there.
Is Floor796 a game, and does it have a backstory?
The evidence supports calling Floor796 an animated art scene or interactive illustration, rather than a conventional game. It does not establish a formal story, central protagonist or plot progression. The scene’s connections come from its visual references and settings; readers should not assume that those details form an official narrative.
