Disney’s D23 2024 announcements came in two distinct showcases: Friday’s entertainment presentation focused on films, series and stage projects, while Saturday’s event outlined plans for parks, cruise ships and digital storytelling. The biggest entertainment reveals included Moana 2, Frozen 3, Incredibles 3, Avatar: Fire and Ash, The Mandalorian & Grogu, Daredevil: Born Again, TRON: Ares and Mufasa: The Lion King. Not every preview was released publicly: some footage was shown only to people in the room.

The recap below reflects what Disney announced at the time. Release dates and windows are historical statements from 2024, not a current schedule. Disney’s company recaps are primary sources for what it presented, but they do not independently establish which announcements were most important to audiences.
Friday’s biggest entertainment trailers and announcements
The Friday presentation mixed public trailers with concept art, development news and footage shown only to attendees. Disney’s recaps reported that the Moana 2 trailer received nearly 200 million views in 24 hours, which the company described as the biggest animated trailer launch in its history. Disney’s Entertainment Showcase recap also reported a nearly $700 million theatrical gross for the original Moana, more than $2.7 billion in global box office for Frozen, and nearly $2 billion collectively for the first two Incredibles films.

Which D23 previews were public?
The distinction matters if you are looking for a trailer to watch: an onstage preview is not necessarily a publicly released trailer. Disney’s August 2024 recaps describe the access this way:
| Project | What Disney said was shown | Access described in the recap |
|---|---|---|
| Moana 2 | Trailer and poster | Trailer and poster debuted at the show |
| Mufasa: The Lion King | Newest trailer | Shown to attendees before official release the next day |
| The Mandalorian & Grogu | New footage | Shown to the Honda Center audience |
| TRON: Ares | Early look | Shown in the room |
For Daredevil: Born Again, Disney said the cast presented footage, without the cited recap establishing that it was released publicly. The event recap is therefore not a reliable list of public trailers to stream; it records both public-facing releases and previews for attendees.

These totals are Disney’s counts in its 2024 recap.
