The offer provided both services with ads for 12 months; it is not a current $4.99 signup price.
What the Black Friday deal actually offered
| Detail | 2025 promotion |
|---|---|
| Price | $4.99 per month |
| Promotional term | 12 months |
| Services | Disney+ with ads and Hulu with ads |
| Reported deadline | December 1, 2025 (Cyber Monday) |
| Renewal | $12.99 per month or the then-current regular price |
| Region | United States |
ABC News reported the 12-month offer during the 2025 Black Friday shopping period. Android Central reported December 1, 2025, as the ending date. Those dates make this a historical promotion, not an evergreen Disney+ price. ABC News and Android Central covered the offer at the time.
Disney also ran a separate official $4.99 promotion for three months that ended March 24, 2026. That shorter offer should not be confused with the 12-month Black Friday deal. Disney’s offer terms identify that promotion and its expiration.
How much the promotion saved
Using the $12.99 monthly regular price cited in the Black Friday coverage, the pre-tax subscription-price comparison is:
#1 Best Overall
- HD streaming made simple: With America’s number 1 TV streaming platform,* exploring popular apps—plus tons of free movies, shows, and live TV—is as easy as it is fun. *Based on hours streamed—Hypothesis Group
- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
| Cost over 12 months | Calculation | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Promotional bundle | $4.99 × 12 | $59.88 |
| Regular bundle | $12.99 × 12 | $155.88 |
| Difference | $155.88 − $59.88 | $96.00 |
Deal coverage sometimes rounded the saving to about $95. The $96 figure is the direct arithmetic difference before taxes; the final card charge can vary where taxes apply.
Who was eligible
The promotion was described as available to new subscribers and eligible returning subscribers. “Returning” did not mean every former customer automatically qualified. Disney could apply account-specific rules based on an active or recent subscription.

- 4K streaming made simple:With America’s number 1 TV streaming platform,* exploring popular apps—plus tons of free movies, shows, and live TV—is as easy as it is fun. *Based on hours streamed—Hypothesis Group
- 4K picture quality: With Roku Streaming Stick Plus, watch your favorites with brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.

- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- An active Disney+, Hulu, or existing bundle subscription could block the promotional price.
- Apple, Google, Roku, wireless-carrier, and other third-party billing arrangements could have separate conversion or cancellation rules.
- Eligibility had to be confirmed at checkout; seeing an advertisement did not guarantee that an account qualified.
Disney’s bundle guidance explains signup routes and account handling for existing customers at the Disney+ Help Center.
What was not included
- No ad-free viewing: both services were the ad-supported tiers.
- No Hulu + Live TV: this was an on-demand bundle, not a live television package.
- No ESPN: sports programming was not part of the $4.99 offer.
- No automatic premium add-ons: HBO Max, STARZ, and other paid extras were separate products or promotions.
Hulu programming can remain available in the Hulu app, while some titles may also be surfaced inside Disney+. The exact interface depends on the account, device, app version, region, and rollout, so the bundle should not be sold as a promise that every Hulu title appears in one unified Disney+ catalog.

What happened after the 12 months
Unless canceled, the subscription was scheduled to renew at $12.99 per month or the then-current regular monthly price. That wording allows Disney to charge more than $12.99 if its standard rate changed during the promotional year.
- Open the account’s billing or subscription page.
- Record the promotional end date shown for the account.
- Set a calendar reminder before the first full-price renewal.
- Cancel before renewal if the post-promotion price is not acceptable.
Disney says cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period rather than cutting off access immediately. See Disney’s cancellation and bundle guidance for account-specific details. Existing-subscription changes can involve prorated charges or credits, as described at Disney’s existing-subscription help page.
Rank #4
- Hides behind your TV: The all-new design plugs right into your TV with a simple setup
- Super-fast startup: Start streaming channels like Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Netflix, Sling, and Hulu in a snap—just turn on your TV
- Long-range Wi-Fi: Enjoy fast, smooth TV streaming in any room with a strong Wi-Fi connection, now up to 2x faster
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku Streaming Stick with the Roku remote
- Voice search & control: Quickly search, play entertainment, and control your streaming device with the voice remote
Was it good value?
A strong fit
- You regularly watch both Disney+ and Hulu.
- You accept commercial interruptions.
- You wanted a full year of service and could track the renewal date.
- You were a new or genuinely eligible returning subscriber.
A weak fit
- You only wanted one of the two services.
- You require ad-free playback.
- You already receive Disney+ or Hulu through a mobile, internet, credit-card, or retail benefit.
- You need Hulu + Live TV, ESPN, or premium add-ons.
- You might forget to cancel before the higher renewal rate.
The central trade-off was simple: access to two ad-supported on-demand services for $4.99 per month for a year, followed by an automatic renewal at a potentially higher price.

Do not assume a search result or an old landing page proves that the 2025 offer has returned. Disney’s help pages may show a different ordinary bundle price—one pricing page crawled April 30, 2026, listed $7.99 per month—so check the live checkout page for the current figure: Disney’s pricing page.
How it compares with broader bundles
Disney’s Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle and ESPN-inclusive plans serve households seeking more services, but they are not like-for-like replacements for the $4.99 promotion. They cost more and may have different terms. Standalone Hulu or Disney+ can be the better choice when you would rarely use the other service.
