The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) said in its 2024 historical report that it found no evidence for the reverse-engineering narrative presented by interviewees; some claims remained under evaluation.
What does The Age of Disclosure claim?
In a March 10, 2025 article, Interesting Engineering described The Age of Disclosure, directed and produced by Dan Farah, as a documentary about an alleged 80-year cover-up and a covert international effort to acquire and reverse-engineer technology said to be extraterrestrial. Those are the film’s allegations as reported by the outlet—not established findings that the U.S. fought wars over alien technology.
Interesting Engineering reported that the film includes testimony from 34 senior figures in U.S. government, military, and intelligence circles, and named Marco Rubio, Kirsten Gillibrand, Mike Rounds, and former Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper. The count and names are reported by the article; the number or seniority of participants does not independently verify the underlying claims. The article also said the film was set to premiere during SXSW’s opening weekend at Austin’s Paramount Theater in 2025; that report is not a current distribution listing.
National security and energy themes
The film’s participants discuss disclosure, national-security implications, and the possibility of clean-energy consequences if advanced technology were understood. These are themes and possibilities raised by the film, not demonstrated outcomes of recovered extraterrestrial technology. Interesting Engineering also attributed the trailer line “Humanity is not the only intelligence in the universe” to Lue Elizondo, whom it identified as a former Pentagon AATIP member. The assertion is not evidence of its own truth.

What did the Pentagon’s AARO report conclude?
AARO’s 2024 Historical Record Report, Volume 1 addresses historical UAP investigations and the reverse-engineering narrative. It states: “AARO has no evidence for the USG reverse-engineering narrative provided by interviewees and has been able to disprove the majority of the interviewees’ claims. Some claims are still under evaluation.”
AARO also said its aggregate review of U.S. government investigations had not identified a UAP case representing off-world technology. That is the office’s conclusion about the investigations and evidence it reviewed—not a universal proof that no classified claim could ever be substantiated or that future evidence is impossible.

How should viewers weigh the documentary against the official review?
| Question | Documentary coverage | AARO’s 2024 report |
|---|---|---|
| What kind of source is it? | Interesting Engineering reports the film’s content and claims. | A U.S. government office’s historical assessment of UAP investigations and reverse-engineering claims. |
| What does it say? | The film is described as alleging an 80-year cover-up and a covert effort to reverse-engineer extraterrestrial technology. | AARO says it found no evidence for the reverse-engineering narrative provided by interviewees and had disproved most of their claims. |
| What remains unresolved? | The article’s reported testimony and themes do not, by themselves, verify the allegations. | AARO says some claims were still under evaluation. |
| What is the stated scope? | The article reports what the documentary presents; it does not independently establish the alleged events. | The report describes the office’s review of historical investigations and the evidence available to it. |
The key distinction is between an observation that remains unidentified and a conclusion about its origin. “Unidentified” means the available information has not resolved the observation; it does not establish that the object or event is extraterrestrial. Neither the reported witness count nor an unresolved UAP case closes that evidentiary gap.

The sources cited here do not establish that the United States fought wars to reverse-engineer alien technology. The claim appears as part of the documentary’s reported thesis, while AARO’s public historical review says it found no evidence for the interviewees’ reverse-engineering narrative. AARO’s qualification matters: it said some claims remained under evaluation, so its conclusion should not be inflated into a claim that every conceivable allegation has been disproved.
