Noel Gallagher has not confirmed that he wrote a new Oasis album. He said in 2024 that he had written 40 songs during the Covid lockdown period, including material for acoustic and stadium-rock projects, but did not identify them as Oasis songs. In his latest located public comment, reported on September 15, 2026, he said of a possible new Oasis album: “There won’t be any new music.”
What Noel Gallagher said about a new Oasis album
Asked about a possible album while discussing Oasis’s planned 2027 tour with talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein, Gallagher said, “There won’t be any new music,” according to Rolling Stone Canada’s September 15, 2026 report. That is the clearest recent public answer: Gallagher was not announcing a new Oasis record.

The statement describes his position in that interview. It does not establish whether unreleased songs or private discussions exist, and it cannot rule out a change of plans later.
What were the 40 songs he said he wrote?
In 2024, Gallagher said he had written 40 songs during Covid lockdown. Some went onto his High Flying Birds album Council Skies; he described other material as two distinct projects, not as an Oasis album. Rolling Stone Australia reported his comments on September 3, 2024.
#1 Best Overall
- Acoustic material: Gallagher described “a very, very stripped back” acoustic album and said he had begun recording it before going on tour.
- Stadium-rock material: He also described “a very, very heavily guitar-based stadium rock album.”
The report said the acoustic album had not yet appeared. It did not say Oasis had recorded either project or adopted the songs. The suggestion that Liam Gallagher might sing the stadium-rock material was speculation, not confirmation of an Oasis release.
Do the Oasis catalog and anniversary releases count as new music?
No. Oasis’s official releases index lists catalog and anniversary products, including the Oasis: Complete Studio Album Collection. Those are ways to revisit released work, not evidence of a newly written Oasis studio album.

The band’s 2025 announcement for the 30th anniversary of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? describes unplugged versions of five existing recordings. Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho produced and mixed those versions using the original master recordings at Gallagher’s Lone Star Sound studio in London. They are anniversary versions of existing songs, not new Oasis compositions.
