The pawn-shop ownership claims
According to the Associated Press’s account of the lawsuit, Joanne alleged that she had been made to sign over a 51% interest in the pawn shop while hospitalized in 2000 or 2001. She also claimed she inherited her late husband Richard “Old Man” Harrison’s 49% share when he died in 2018, and that she could not obtain a complete accounting of the business’s finances. The AP report, republished by Fox Business, describes these as claims in the lawsuit.
Other reported financial claims
KLAS/Nexstar reported that Joanne’s complaint described a family trust said to contain $500,000 in silver and at least $100,000 in cash. The complaint also reportedly alleged that a $3 million loan was secured using her assets without her knowledge, and that payments of $25,000 per month, later reduced to $20,000, stopped in March 2020. Those figures reflect allegations reported in 2022; they are not verified balances, proof of an unauthorized loan, or court findings. KLAS/Nexstar’s report attributes the details to the complaint.

How did Rick Harrison respond?
Rick denied the allegations. In a response to the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported by the Associated Press and republished by Fox Business, he said: “The allegations are false, and I think my 81-year-old mother is being manipulated by others for their personal gain.” That was his stated view of the dispute, not an independently established explanation.
Did Joanne get the pawn shop or Rick’s net worth?
The lawsuit reporting says Joanne sought unspecified damages, an accounting, an order restricting Rick’s use of funds she claimed belonged to her, and a constructive trust over property she claimed was hers. The sources reviewed do not show that a court granted those requests. An alleged share in a family business is also not the same thing as Rick’s personal net worth. The available information therefore does not support a definitive claim about the district-court case’s final disposition.
Joanne died at a Las Vegas hospital in November 2025 at age 85, according to TMZ, citing Rick Harrison’s representative. The “81-year-old” wording refers to her age in the 2022 lawsuit coverage, not her age at death.
