At the May 23, 2024 Los Angeles premiere Q&A for Gaga Chromatica Ball, Lady Gaga said she performed five shows on her 2022 tour while sick with COVID. She did not identify the shows or say when she contracted the virus.
What Lady Gaga said at the premiere
Gaga made the disclosure during a Q&A at the Los Angeles world premiere of Gaga Chromatica Ball. Entertainment Tonight reported her remarks on May 24, 2024, attributing them through Variety. In that account, Gaga said she had shared the situation with her team and told them they did not have to perform or work if they felt uncomfortable.
“I shared it with everyone on my team. And I said, ‘I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable at work, and you don’t have to perform and you don’t have to work that day,’”
She also explained her decision this way: “I just didn’t want to let all the fans down.” Those are her stated words and reason, as reported by Entertainment Tonight; they should not be read as an endorsement of performing while ill.

Which five shows were affected?
The report does not name the five dates or locations, and Gaga did not say when she contracted COVID. The affected shows therefore cannot be identified from the reported disclosure; tour itineraries or fan speculation do not establish which performances she meant.
What is known—and not known—about the circumstances
Gaga said she offered her team the option not to work if they were uncomfortable. That is her account of what she told them, not independent confirmation of each crew member’s decision. The report also does not establish whether anyone contracted COVID from the performances, how long Gaga was ill, or what precautions were taken.

How the disclosure relates to the concert film
Gaga Chromatica Ball documents a 2022 performance at Dodger Stadium. Warner Bros. Discovery’s pressroom material describes the concert as taking place before a sold-out crowd of 52,000. That is context for the filmed performance, not evidence that it was one of the five shows Gaga said she performed while sick.
The tour supported Gaga’s Chromatica album, according to Universal Music Canada’s March 5, 2020 announcement. The premiere disclosure concerns the tour in 2022; the film premiered in 2024.
