The available reports do not establish his net financial result.
What did Kevin James sell the house for?
Realtor.com reported that James sold the Delray Beach property for $12.67 million in May 2023. The Los Angeles Times had reported a $14 million purchase in 2021. Subtracting the reported sale price from the reported purchase price gives a $1.33 million gross price difference—not a calculation of the owner’s final profit or loss. How the asking prices differed from the sale
The property’s asking prices changed over time, but an asking price is not a completed transaction. The Los Angeles Times reported an initial listing price of $15.95 million in 2021. Realtor.com reported that the home was listed for $19.95 million in May 2022, before its reported sale the following year.
| Date | Reported price | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | $14 million | Purchase price reported by the Los Angeles Times |
| 2021 | $15.95 million | Initial listing price reported by the Los Angeles Times; asking price, not sale price |
| May 2022 | $19.95 million | Asking price reported by Realtor.com; not a completed sale |
| May 2023 | $12.67 million | Sale price reported by Realtor.com |
Why the net outcome is unknown
The $1.33 million figure compares only the reported purchase and sale prices. The cited reports do not establish the costs needed to calculate a net result, such as closing costs, taxes, financing, property taxes, maintenance, insurance, or any rental income. Without those figures, it is not possible to say how much James ultimately gained or lost overall.

What the Delray Beach home was like
The Los Angeles Times described an approximately 11,500-square-foot main house with six bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, a one-bedroom guesthouse, and a swimming pool; its report put total living space at nearly 19,000 square feet. Realtor.com described the property as an 11,502-square-foot coastal contemporary with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, plus a saltwater pool and spa, outdoor kitchen, wine cellar, elevator, and guesthouse above a five-car garage. The bedroom and bathroom counts vary between the reports, so they should be understood as source-specific descriptions rather than a reconciled count. (Los Angeles Times; Realtor.com)

A separate Delray Beach mansion is the source of a much larger set of figures sometimes associated with James: Realtor.com reported that he bought that different property for $18.5 million in 2012 and sold it for $26.38 million in 2016. Those amounts do not belong in the calculation for the house bought in 2021 and sold in 2023. (Realtor.com)
