No credible evidence shows Justin Bieber released or sang the viral recording. CBS News found no record of the song in Bieber’s catalog, and multiple audio-detection tools and named experts assessed it as likely or possibly AI-generated. The recording’s creator and exact production method have not been established, so it is best described as likely AI-generated—not conclusively proven to be AI or attributed to a specific person.

What is the viral “Diddy party” song?

It is a clip that sounds like Bieber and includes the lyric “lost myself at a ‘Diddy’ party,” alongside lines about fortune, fame and a Ferrari. There is no confirmed official title for the recording in the cited reporting; it is more accurately identified as the viral alleged “Diddy party” song.

CBS News reported that the audio began circulating across social platforms in April 2024 and gained attention again in September 2024, after Sean “Diddy” Combs was charged in Manhattan federal court. The lyric appears to refer to allegations concerning Combs’s residences, but it is not an authenticated statement by Bieber or evidence that any event described in it occurred.

What evidence says Bieber did not release it?

CBS News reported that the recording did not appear in Bieber’s catalog and found no record of him releasing it. That is distinct from proving exactly who made the clip: the report does not identify a creator or provide a definitive provenance for the audio.

Why is it described as likely AI-generated?

CBS News ran the audio through multiple AI audio-detection tools. Several results indicated that the recording, or at least parts of it, were likely AI-generated. Stephen Stahl, co-founder of the Ai-SPY detection tool, told CBS he believed it was possibly AI-generated and outlined a plausible voice-cloning workflow. Zohaib Ahmed, CEO and founder of Resemble AI, said his company’s tool found it likely AI-generated.

These are tool results and expert assessments reported by CBS, not a disclosed forensic chain of custody. They support describing the clip as likely AI-generated, but do not establish which system was used, who made it, or that every part of the audio was synthetically generated. Stahl also told CBS: “AI is [going to] be able to help anybody create a song easily, quicker, more efficiently. The downside is that everybody will be able to create a song. So talent is no longer a prerequisite to construct a great song.” That comment is context about AI-assisted music, not a finding about the clip’s creator.

How widely did the clip circulate?

The figures below are historical numbers reported by CBS News in its September 24, 2024 article, not current totals or evidence that the song is authentic.

  • A TikTok video using the audio had 7 million views, as reported by CBS News in 2024.
  • CBS News found the audio used in more than 4,500 TikTok videos in 2024.
  • Luminate reported an 18.3% average week-over-week increase in streams of Combs’s music catalog during the week of his September 2024 arrest. That figure concerns Combs’s catalog, not the viral song.

Is the 2025 Bieber testimony video connected to the song?

No. It was a separate claim. In May 2025, AFP found that a video purporting to show Bieber saying he would testify in Combs’s trial had digitally manipulated footage from a 2022 interview. AFP said the interview transcript did not mention Combs or testimony. That video does not establish anything about who created the song.

AFP also quoted Bieber’s representative: “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’s victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.” The statement addressed victim speculation; it was not a direct comment about the song.

What Bieber’s past public appearances with Combs do—and don’t—show

The Daily Beast reported that Bieber and Combs appeared together publicly when Bieber was a teenager, including in a 2009 video Bieber posted and a 2011 television appearance. Those appearances do not authenticate the viral recording or verify its lyrics.
