Yes. Jennette McCurdy said she met her biological father and spent time with him, including Sunday brunches. But she described the contact as awkward and overwhelming, and said that seeking more answers had become unhealthy. Her account establishes that they met—not that they built a lasting relationship.
What Jennette McCurdy said about meeting him
In an interview recorded in August 2022 for The Three Questions with Andy Richter, McCurdy was asked whether she had met her biological father. She answered: “I have. I have met him and one of my two brothers who’s also, that he’s also the father of, has met him.” The interview transcript records her account of what followed.
She said she saw him “quite a bit” for a period and described having Sunday brunches with him and meeting half-siblings. The contact was not a relationship stretching back through her childhood; she had not known him as her father while growing up.
Why she did not describe it as a happy reunion
McCurdy said the relationship felt awkward because the two were strangers to each other. As they spoke, she learned more, and the process became overwhelming. She also said trying to get answers had become unhealthy for her and that she wanted to leave the past in the past.

Those details matter: meeting her biological father is not the same as reconciling or establishing an enduring father-daughter relationship. Her interview confirms meetings and some contact, but does not establish that the relationship continued.
How she learned Mark McCurdy was not her biological father
McCurdy grew up believing Mark McCurdy was her biological father. The Washington Post’s 2022 profile reported that she learned otherwise after her mother, Debra, died.
Rank #2
In a later Louis Theroux Podcast interview, McCurdy said her mother had a seven-year affair and that she and two of her three older brothers were products of it. She said she learned this two years after her mother’s death; the account appears in the podcast transcript.
A January 2026 report about her Call Her Daddy appearance gives a different interval: it says she learned from Mark a year and a half after her mother’s death. That is the timeline reported for that interview, rather than a reason to treat one exact interval as settled across her accounts. The shared point is that she learned after her mother died. Tyla’s report attributes the shorter interval to her conversation with Alex Cooper.

What is—and is not—known about her biological father
The interviews cited here do not establish his name. They also do not show that McCurdy and he maintained a relationship after the period of brunches and other contact. The careful answer is therefore that she did meet him, while the extent and duration of any relationship beyond what she described remain unestablished in these accounts.
