Former WWE writer Nick Manfredini said Charles Manson wanted to meet Bray Wyatt after a prison guard showed Manson some of Wyatt’s WWE promos. That account comes from Manfredini’s appearance on Wrestling with Freddie; the available reporting does not independently confirm the private events.
What Nick Manfredini said happened
In an interview discussed on Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Manfredini said a former college football teammate of Wyatt’s later worked as a prison guard at the California prison where Manson was held. According to Manfredini, the guard showed Manson some of Wyatt’s promos, and Manson then wanted to meet Wyatt. Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online and Fightful reported the account on October 23, 2025. Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online’s report and Fightful’s report relay Manfredini’s story.
Manfredini’s wording, as reproduced by Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, was: “Allegedly this guy showed Manson the Bray Wyatt promos and he wanted to meet him, and this was a whole thing, I swear. It is 100 percent true.” The word “allegedly” matters: “100 percent true” is Manfredini’s assertion, not independent corroboration of what the guard or Manson did.
Was there a WWE special or a meeting?
Manfredini said Wyatt’s father, Mike Rotunda, knew about the request and raised the possibility of a WWE Network special with someone senior at WWE. Manfredini recalled that the idea was quickly rejected. He also said he later suggested that he and Wyatt visit Manson, then reconsidered and decided it was a bad idea.
