Dexter: Resurrection premiered on Paramount+ on July 11, 2025, with a two-episode debut. The “100% on Rotten Tomatoes” figure attached to launch coverage was a snapshot from that date—not a verified current series-wide score. The series continues the story of Dexter Morgan after Dexter: New Blood, and Paramount’s catalog lists a 10-episode first season and a season 2 premiere date of October 30, 2026.
Where to watch Dexter: Resurrection
Paramount+ is the verified streaming home for the series. Paramount announced a two-episode premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime for July 11, 2025, and its catalog lists the show as a Paramount+ drama. Check Paramount’s series catalog and its premiere announcement for the official listing. Availability and subscription terms can vary by region; the cited pages do not establish current local pricing or availability outside the listed service.
Amazon Prime Video also has a Season 1 listing, but its page says the video is unavailable. That listing does not confirm that the season can currently be streamed or purchased there.
Is it still 100% on Rotten Tomatoes?
The widely repeated 100% figure came from Tom’s Guide’s launch-day article, published July 11, 2025. It described the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score at that time; it should not be treated as a live or guaranteed current score. The available current Rotten Tomatoes series page does not establish a current series-wide percentage.

There is a separate Rotten Tomatoes figure for the season 1 premiere: episode 1 was listed at 100% based on five reviews when the page was retrieved October 4, 2026. That is an episode-level score, not the aggregate for the season or series. See the series page and the episode 1 page for the distinct listings.
What is the sequel about?
Set weeks after Dexter Morgan is shot in the chest by his son, Harrison, the story begins with Dexter waking from a coma and discovering Harrison is gone. He heads to New York City to make things right, but his past catches up with him when Angel Batista arrives with questions. Paramount’s official synopsis frames the season around that pursuit and confrontation.

What critics said at launch
Tom’s Guide quoted Rotten Tomatoes’ critical consensus as calling the continuation a return to form that “rediscovers the thrill of the hunt.” The same article quoted Richard Roeper of RogerEbert.com describing it as “blood-spattered and wildly entertaining,” while The Hollywood Reporter’s Daniel Fienberg offered a contrasting view, calling it an “amusing but unnecessary gamble.” Those reactions illustrate a difference in critical judgment; they do not establish audience consensus.
Tom’s Guide also reported that Cade Onder of ComicBook.com gave the first four episodes 4 out of 5, praising their thrills, dark humor, story, and Michael C. Hall’s performance. These are attributed launch-era assessments, not a current audience rating.
