The first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle movie was announced for a 2025 release on December 8, 2024. That window was later replaced by territory-specific dates: July 18, 2025, in Japan and September 12, 2025, in the United States and Canada. Crunchyroll subsequently announced a streaming premiere beginning July 28, 2026.
What the original 2025 announcement meant
Crunchyroll announced the first film’s 2025 premiere window on December 8, 2024. It named a release year, not one date for every country or format. The window was accurate when announced, but later announcements supplied specific theatrical dates.
The movie is the first part of a three-film adaptation of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga’s final arc. Crunchyroll announced the trilogy on June 30, 2024, and said it had acquired the films with Sony Pictures Entertainment for global theatrical release, excluding Japan and select Asian territories.
The announced theatrical dates
| Territory | Announced theatrical date or schedule | Announcement details |
|---|---|---|
| Japan | July 18, 2025 | Crunchyroll announced the Japanese premiere date on March 1, 2025. |
| United States and Canada | September 12, 2025 | The official English anime website announced this date on March 5, 2025, and specified Japanese audio with English subtitles and an English dub. |
| Other international markets | Staggered dates from August into September 2025 | The March 5, 2025 announcement listed varying dates by market; there was no single worldwide theatrical date. |
The dates above describe the announced theatrical schedule, not a guarantee of current showtimes or availability. For a particular country, check local listings rather than assuming the Japan or North American date applies.
