The Fifth Element played in U.S. theaters on July 26–27, 2026, as part of Fathom Entertainment’s Big Screen Classics program. That engagement has ended: Fathom now marks the event as past. The presentation was described as a 4K remaster and included exclusive insight from Leonard Maltin; anyone looking for another screening should check current local listings rather than assume one is scheduled.
When The Fifth Element played in theaters
Fathom Entertainment’s February 12, 2026 announcement included The Fifth Element in its nationwide Big Screen Classics program for July 26–27, 2026. Fathom’s lineup announcement described the presentation as remastered in 4K and noted exclusive insight from Leonard Maltin. The event listing does not specify how long Maltin’s contribution was or precisely how it was presented.

The dates have passed. Fathom’s event page labels the screening a past event, so it is not a source of currently available tickets. Cinemark lists July 26, 2026 as the release date for its event listing, with a PG-13 rating and a runtime of 2 hours 11 minutes. Neither listing establishes a future engagement.
What the theatrical event offered
Fathom’s event synopsis presents the film as a 23rd-century adventure starring Bruce Willis as Korben Dallas, a New York cab driver, alongside Milla Jovovich as Leeloo and Gary Oldman as Zorg. Its story centers on Leeloo as the life force representing the fifth element. Sony identifies the 1997 film as science fiction and action and lists its rating as PG-13.
#1 Best Overall
- Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, and Gary Oldman star in acclaimed director Luc Besson's outrageous sci-fi adventure, an extravagantly styled tale of good against evil set in an unbelievable twenty-third century world.
The announced 4K remaster and Maltin insight were features of Fathom’s special theatrical presentation. The available listings do not establish that a future screening will use the same presentation. Fathom also said participating theater locations could change during the program, so any later dates or venues need to be checked against current theater listings.
How to watch The Fifth Element now
Sony’s official film page lists The Fifth Element on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. These home formats are an alternative to waiting for a theater engagement, but they should not be treated as identical to Fathom’s special event presentation.
Rank #2
- The disk has English audio and subtitles.
For UHD HDR playback, Sony specifies a compatible 4K HDR TV, an Ultra HD Blu-ray player, and high-speed HDMI 2.0A cables. Those requirements apply to that home-viewing setup, not to seeing the film at a theater.

The official listings establish the July 2026 event, but do not announce another date or a 2027 anniversary screening. For any later showing, search a theater locator by ZIP code or check the websites of nearby cinemas for current listings. A past event page or an earlier program announcement does not confirm that tickets are available for a new screening.
