What happened in the phone-silencing gag?
According to ComicBook.com’s April 11, 2024 report, the presentation began with Deadpool and Wolverine addressing a phone ringing in a theater. Wolverine tells the audience to turn off the phone. Deadpool replies: “Nice fourth wall break, didn’t think ya had it in ya!”

TheWrap’s April 11 report described footage involving Wade’s birthday and the TVA, a meta joke about Fox, and Deadpool and Wolverine joking in a car. Those details belong to TheWrap’s account; they should not be treated as if ComicBook.com independently confirmed each one. Neither outlet published a complete or official transcript of the CinemaCon footage.
What Disney confirmed about the CinemaCon presentation
D23’s official April 15 recap confirms that Levy presented an exclusive look at the film. It names Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin and other cast members, and identifies Levy as director. The recap says the movie follows Deadpool and Deadpool 2, but it does not provide a detailed account of the preview scenes.

That distinction matters: CinemaCon attendees saw an exclusive presentation, while the specific jokes and scene descriptions available afterward came from reporters covering the event. The footage itself was not thereby made publicly available.
How the gag fits the film’s tone
In a Walt Disney Company interview published July 25, 2024, Levy described the film’s voice as self-aware and culturally observant, while emphasizing the story of its two leads. He called it an “odd couple, buddy cop movie.”

Levy also said audiences would get the humor and action they expected, and pointed to the friendship between the characters as an unexpected source of warmth. The phone gag captures the irreverent, audience-facing humor, but his description places that humor alongside the central relationship rather than making the film only a string of jokes.

Deadpool & Wolverine opened in US theaters on July 26, 2024, according to D23’s recap. Later, Disney UK announced digital availability in the UK from October 1, 2024, with bonus features including a gag reel, deleted scenes, featurettes, and commentary by Levy and Reynolds. Those are historical release announcements, not a guide to current availability; the UK announcement does not establish present-day availability or a particular physical edition.
