Grant Morrison writes the Batman and Deadpool story, with art by Dan Mora. Its four bonus stories bring together other DC and Marvel characters, while a 2026 collection offers the issue alongside more crossovers.
Which Batman and Deadpool comic is this?
There were two distinct Batman/Deadpool-branded one-shots in 2025. Marvel published Deadpool/Batman #1, announced for September 17, 2025. DC’s separate issue is DC/Marvel: Batman/Deadpool #1, released November 19, 2025. The reversed character order reflects different comics, not alternate names for one release. DC’s issue listing identifies its edition and current availability.
This article focuses on the DC issue. The Marvel issue’s official listing describes a main Deadpool/Batman story and backup team-ups including Daredevil/Green Arrow, Captain America/Wonder Woman, and Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto; its story and creative details are not necessary to identify the DC release.
What is in DC’s Batman/Deadpool #1?
The main story
DC pairs Batman, the Dark Knight, with Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth. Grant Morrison is the writer and Dan Mora the artist. DC’s August 13, 2025 announcement framed the encounter with the question, “What happens when the World’s Greatest Detective meets the Merc with a Mouth?”—publisher copy, rather than a claim about how readers have responded. Four bonus crossovers
The one-shot adds four short team-ups beyond its Batman/Deadpool centerpiece:
- Constantine and Doctor Strange, with Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson writing, and Hayden Sherman illustrating.
- Nightwing (Dick Grayson) and Wolverine (Laura Kinney), written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Bruno Redondo.
- Harley Quinn and Hulk, written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Amanda Conner.
- Static and Ms. Marvel, written by G. Willow Wilson and illustrated by Denys Cowan.
DC’s current issue listing gives a US price of $7.99 and a Teen rating. It lists 50 pages, while the publisher’s August 2025 announcement called the comic 64 pages. Because those official sources conflict, the page count is not a dependable specification to use without identifying which listing it comes from. See the current issue listing.

Is there a collection with the crossover?
Yes. DC announced DC/Marvel: The Cosmic Kiss Caper & Other Stories, a 224-page collection released September 8, 2026. It includes DC/Marvel: Batman/Deadpool #1, DC/Marvel: Superman/Spider-Man #1, and first print editions of the digital comics The Flash/Fantastic Four and Supergirl/Blade. DC says it is available in hardcover and paperback wherever books are sold; the announcement does not give format-specific prices. Read DC’s collection announcement.
The collection also gathers shorter crossover tales featuring pairings such as Lois Lane/Mary Jane Watson, Power Girl/Punisher, Nightwing/Wolverine, Jimmy Olsen/Carnage, and Superboy/Spider-Man 2099. Those pairings are part of a varied anthology, not a promise that each gets a full-length standalone issue.

No new individual Batman/Deadpool sequel is established by the cited DC announcements. The “another multiversal team-up” framing is better understood as the wider crossover initiative: the DC one-shot includes several character pairings, and the later collection brings together more DC/Marvel stories. The publisher’s description of the collection as the first major DC/Marvel crossover collection in more than two decades is a statement from DC’s June 1, 2026 announcement, not evidence that a new Batman/Deadpool issue has been announced.
