After Dave Grohl announced on September 10, 2024, that he had recently welcomed a daughter outside his marriage, news outlets reported that his daughter Violet’s Instagram page appeared unavailable. The reports did not establish when the page changed, why it became unavailable, or whether the announcement was connected.

Grohl and Jordyn Blum married in 2003 and have three daughters together. ABC News reported Violet was 18 at the time; that is an age reported in 2024, not a statement of her current age.
What was reported about Violet’s Instagram
Us Weekly reported that Violet’s Instagram page displayed an unavailable-page message after Grohl’s announcement, while noting that the timing of any deactivation was unclear. Hollywood Life also described the account as apparently deactivated and said the exact timing was uncertain.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the reports do—and do not—establish
- Established: Grohl made his announcement on September 10, 2024, and contemporaneous outlets reported that Violet’s page appeared unavailable.
- Not established: The precise time the page became unavailable, Violet’s reason, or whether the announcement caused the change.
- Not verified by the cited later coverage: Violet’s current Instagram status. A March 2026 Louder article about Grohl discussing social-media fallout and a February 2026 MusicRadar article about Violet’s music career do not confirm whether her account is active now.
Accordingly, the careful description is that Violet’s Instagram page appeared unavailable around the time of her father’s announcement. The available reporting does not support presenting a motive or causal link as fact.
