That was a midseason update, not the couple’s final Season 1 status. Later episodes changed the picture: Baez ended the relationship in Episode 15, then she and Danny reconciled in the finale.

Baez’s responsibilities at home made the distance harder to manage. Her mother has Alzheimer’s and cannot be left alone, and Baez wanted to remain close to both her mother and her daughter in New York. In TVLine’s recap of Episode 15, Baez tells Danny, “I love you, and I want a life with you… I just don’t know how we can do this.” She suggests they say goodbye while they still love each other.
Did Danny and Baez get back together?
Yes. The couple reconciled in the Season 1 finale. Danny asked Baez to move in with him in Boston, along with her daughter and mother.

That invitation is not the same as a completed move. In a May 23, 2026 interview with TV Insider, co-creator Brandon Sonnier said, “So yes, she will come to Boston.” He also said the story would first address Baez’s existing life and family responsibilities in New York. The reported direction is that she will come to Boston; the source does not establish that she is already living with Danny.
What did Wahlberg say after the breakup?
After the Episode 15 split, Wahlberg spoke to Us Weekly about the possibility of the characters rekindling their romance. “They must hold out hope for [them to] rekindle [their romance],” he said, adding that the show planned to “stretch” their journey.
